You can buy every player under the soon and play them all the money they want, but you can't make them want it.
Certain players will happily just do enough to get buy and leave with the wage.
We were outplayed, outfought and frankly, out thought for 80 minutes of the game. We only got back into it because they got sloppy and took their foot off the gas.
These Bayern players are mostly German, these players are a result of the work done at the grassroots, the majority of the German team (correct me if I'm wrong) play in Germany. Last season the CL final was contested by two German teams. They and Spain, are doing what we're not. The Premiership is rellying mostly on foreign players because we just don't have the players available.
They are a different class. They're ability to fill every hole, to back eachother up and just work so hard is outstanding. When a player loses the ball they've a total of 6 seconds to try and win it back, if not they fall back and let the next player deal with it. Rarely do they not win it back in those six seconds. We tried everything, we lost the ball and they won it back straight away, it was relentless. There was very little we could have done on our best day. Never mind playing poorly.
We're an excellent team and a big fish in our pond. But there are bigger fish and larger ponds, and that's just the way of life.
We can't buy every decent player on the planet, and we can't buy heart and spirit that's been embeded in a club, that is obviously going to come easier to a group of Germans playing in Germany than a bunch of foreign players brought to England who would probably have gone to any other club for the right price.
We can only be happy with what we have and be grateful for the standard we do have when you look at where we came from.
