City Vs Liverpool Post Match Discussion Thread

I don't understand all the panic. When was the last time Pool played you guys and parked the bus to protect a 1-0 lead? There is no doubt you missed Kompany, Silva and Ya Ya Toure but even without them you are a much better team than Pool. I don't see why Savic is getting so much stick. He is very young and still has to adapt to Premiership football but there is no doubt he has potential. I also don't understand why some of you put down Mancini. Although I am a Chelsea fan I regard Mancini as the best tactical manager in the Premiership. So why all the fuss! Surely the Carling Cup is not a top priority of yours. You should be proud the fact that you are top of the League. I'll be more than surprised if you don't come out on top at the end of the season.

Sometimes it takes an outsider to see the obvious.

Stop flapping people and enjoy it.

If some of the people on here had been captains or generals of the British Army in World War 2 we'd all be eating bloody sauerkraut and frankfurters and wearing lederhosen right now!

What are you on about? I've been doing that for years!

Don't have much to add except,I absolutely hate charlie adam more than anyone on earth, every time I see him play I just fantasize about fighting him. He is an incredibly punchable human being.

Loved Micah tonight.

Disappointing display tonight

In mitigation:

(i) a lot of effort expended on sunday
(ii) the spine of the team Vinny - Yaya - Spanish Dave all absent, bound to effect the way we play

It's squeeky bum time - by the end of Jan our season could be in ruins....

....more positively, I think we can win at Anfield but I'd rather focus on results v Wigan and Spurs.

Truth is we were shit and this type of performance has happened a few times

We aint good enough fook if we cant competbecause and play football at a decent tempo regardless of eith Yaya or Silva not being there then we are in trouble.

Raga have had similar injuries but still manage to grind out results when they matter

Out of two cups and yes pissed off

Not sure if Mancini is better than Ferguson.

I know where he lives if you want to play out your fantasy?

We badly need a plan B? i would suggest that starts with players who can break with the ball with pace...... Our best attacking outlet tonight was Micah, why? because he has pace and power, something severely lacking in our midfield, highlighted especially by the abscence of Yaya - DJ isnt half the player unfortunately.

Nasri,i thought did much better tonight,he made a huge difference to our approach and tactics but once again we are far too predictable.

Along with an experienced and powerful centrehalf,AJ,DJ and Kolarov are obvious first team candidates for superior and needed replacements as our squad depth is severely over rated.

Don't get too depressed - it was all pretty predictable - as bad as we were, we totally bossed the 2nd half, and we lost the match due to a stupid penalty.
1-0 isn't a disaster and Liverpool have been pretty rubbish at home. Hopefully, Silva will be back and we will pose more of a threat - perhaps we'll sign somebody, or have a fit Balo available.
We can still get through, and if not, we can improve massively for the premier league run in when we're back to full strength and blow everyone out of the water from Feb onwards.
Biggest concern is that Johnson, Savic and Kolarov are clearly inadequate and barely first team material when our stars aren't available to give them time and space to shine.

Yep sums it up nicely except for adding that Nasri needs to do better
