City Vs Spuds Post Match Discussion thread

I was gutted that the trophy wasn't being presented to Spivs yesterday as apparently they had the league last week.!!!!!!

For all the pretty passing and flicks you didn't fucking hurt us really.Long range effort which was a great goal and a Savic fuck up...Rather play shit and win than lose pretty. We didn't play shite mind but the record books will say just that..

3 points City...0 pts Spuds!

Now run along and go support Arry at court...3 yrs coming his way! just ask lester what happens when you defraud Her majestys government!!!!

-- Mon Jan 23, 2012 5:27 pm --

Well even though City have purchased their recent successes i still kinda liked them until yesterday. I dont have a problem with getting beat although it was painful...But the Bollatelli incident was answered with disgusting arrogance by certain City fans enough for me to lose respect for them and their gift wrapped team. Suddenly they seem to think theirs a media witch hunt after them and nobody wants them to succeed...Maybe if your players didnt invite criticism by doing idiotic things then their would be nothing to report apart from the football. These players they spunked Millions of pounds of the arabs dosh on MAYBE GIFTED WITH THE BALL ...SHAME ABOUT THE BRAINS. Mr Bollatelli is a young lad still but really is he that thick that he needs a full time babysitter at home incase he plays with fireworks? and kills himself or somebody else? He seriously needs to be put across Mancini knee and given 10 of the best hes like a petulant child and his actions yesterday could land him a ban all the papers say the same thing more or less the suns BoLOUTelli was quite just its not just a foul its GBH ABH whatever you would call it. If players are in the dock for words spoken to others how can this not be?.
only 1 spurs

This a post an the majority are the same on Vital Spurs....I didnt know they had never spent a penny!! Hilarious..Yet they are asking us to have humility...What a set of COckney cunts..Spurs are now on a par with the rags for hatred

Arsenal are the best side to visit us this season.

Spurs were not even better than Newcastle, who at least came to attack.

Spurs are plodders in midfield and always relying on the ball over the top or the diagonal crossfield.

Team of myths

Seriously?

We came within a hairs breadth of beating you. If Defoe's legs had been an inch longer we would be talking about one of the great comebacks in Premier League history.

Man City have won everyone of their home games and we pushed you right to the very last.

I can't imagine that your players and fans have been more delirious at winning a home game this season than they were after 94 minutes yesterday.

We gave you one hell of a game, I don't see how any sane person could deny that.

Missing the point, we have been forced to listen to incessant bleatings about the quality of Spurs football, (to be fair not just from Spurs fans) and was expecting a lot more. The movement was predictable and the touch was not good from your players. Your first shot on target was the Defoe goal and i honestly think you got lucky from a long punt upfield and this give you the momentum which can happen at any level. I just think we have had other teams at the Etihad who have played better football, I won't mention who.

The game itself was great not least due to some dodgy defending on both sides which was culpable to two of the goals. However I don't understand how the 1st half has been wiped from memory and City creating quite a few good situations and looking far superior to Spurs...Its a game of 2 halves.

I have also heard today that Adebayor would have made the difference and should have been allowed to play, to this I say that the rules state that he can't, and if he was allowed City would not have loaned him in the first place. Their is a way round this next year, stump up the 20m and pay him the 150k per week.

My only hope is that when you play the rags you don't do your usual roll over and have your tummy tickled.

Well we scored the best goal of the game and scored more goals from open play than you.

I don't see how you can take issue with the football we played away at (currently) the best team in the country.

And we get praise because we play entertaining football. We're the underdogs as well. Competing with a fraction of the budget of our rivals.

You have a huge headstart on every club in the country with your finances. You have spent unprecedented amounts of money in building a football team. No English team has ever spent the amount of money you have on wages.

You are expected to win everything. You should win everything with the money you have.

That's why, generally speaking, the media don't praise you. It's par for the course. The richest team in the country who pay the biggest wages are top of the league?

Hardly a remarkable story is it?

I'm not moaning about your advantage btw, just pointing out just why you probably don't get the attention/credit you think you deserve.

-- Mon Jan 23, 2012 4:46 pm --

Yes.....but the point still stands that we were unlucky to lose and you were extremely fortunate to get the win.

You should have had two players sent off for a start. I’m not going to argue about the decisions (no doubt you’ve convinced yourself that both Lescott and Balo are entirely innocent) suffice to say that if those two players had got away with the same acts of violence in a Utd shirt you’d all be crying conspiracy and corruption.

You're the better team and I'm quite convinced that you will beat Utd to the title but a little humility and respect for opponents who gave you one hell of a game wouldn't go amiss.

I'd say also we were unlucky to be missing Kompany, but it doesn't change the fact that yesterday's game was fantastic and Tottenham Hotspurs are one of the two best footballing sides in England this season. You're right, mate. I don't want my team's absolute class to turn me into an arrogant rag. What your manager has done for Tottenham is nothing short of amazing. You have a great team, and some great players. I'd take Bale off you any day of the week.

In truth I'd like Tottenham to be up there in the new era of football that's on the horizon. Newcastle too, although I doubt that will happen. I want a totally new top 4 teams. Chances of that are slimmer than slim, I know, but it'd make me smile.

You must be buzzin with your team's progress, as I'm buzzin with City. Talk about exciting times. If Harry Rednapp gets sent down, though, your team is gonna be in a bit of trouble re staying in the top 4, I think. Whatever happens, it'll definitely show your character.

As for City, after the Everton game, we should have a relatively smoother run of fixtures for a while. I can't see us losing this title race. And I can't see myself NOT fainting, crying and having an orgasm if we win it on the Old Trafford game!

One of the best games this season, yesterday. I lost some hair but we came out on top. Game, mate. You were unlucky, no doubt about that.

Great post. It was a fantastic game.

Good luck for the rest of the season (as if you need it!).

Yove been spending for 10 years and pay plenty decent wages and you are 3rd after finishing 5th last season its hardly roy of the rovers stuff for you guys either.

You scored the best goal of the game that is very debatable, bales wasnt any better than robbie keanes and david silva split your defence like a knife through butter.

Unfortunately for you sore losers the games decided on the most goals scored, not the prettiest, a typical non-football fan comment

If all you are going to do is woman about the money, yawn, then can I point you in the direction of Glory Glory as, frankly, we've heard it all before

Eh? I'm not bitching about money. Good luck to you. I'm perceptive enough to see that City's luck has contributed to the downfall to the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, and Spurs are directly profiting from the new outlook in English football.

If it wasn't for City Aguero, Sliva, Yaya, Nasri etc could well be playing for are other rivals.

I was addressing the OP's point regarding Spurs being praised and City not.

You don't get praised because you are the favourites. You have the most money and you have the best players. The press will always look for a bit of romance. It was the same when Chelsea were good. when they won the title it was usually greeted with a collective shrug of the shoulders as if to say, 'well, what did you expect'.

Not having the press on your side is a small price to pay for all the enjoyment the true fans will derive from a period of dominance for City.

Spurs will take 3-5 years to turn back this result

Only if we start the clock from this year. We've been turning you over for years, going right back to 81 ;)

-- Mon Jan 23, 2012 5:11 pm --

A SPURS fan claiming that fans of another club lack humility.

I'm speechless.

I didn't say you lacked humilty as a club, just that in this particular instance when things could (and probably should) have been so different, it is hardy becoming to start slagging off the club you scraped past in the 94th with a penalty from a guy who should have been off the pitch!

One of the funniest quotes on this thread :)

soooo you scored the best goal and more goals from open play...yup that means spurs should have won...obviously.
