City Vs Spuds Post Match Reaction Thread

Great game today. Pretty much everyone pulled their weight I feel (other than that horrible period right after the half).

Dzeko I felt was a bit off, played decent but you can see he's still adapting.

Johnson was almost invisible in the second half, had a decent first half.

Zabaletta was having a blinder before Crouch Muah Thai'd him out of the game.

Player of the match, Richards. Not even close, the guy dominated completely. He was unstoppable.

Also, special mention to Mancini, Viera for Johnson, moving Milner out wide proved a brilliant move. Spurs were pounding us and looked almost certain to score, but after that change our midfield was made a little more solid and the game went almost 180. We pretty much controlled the last 20 odd minutes after that sub and were really unlucky not to score a second.

Bring on Saturday. I'll be cheering along in the early ours!

Dzeko was, at times, very good, and at times very bad but I have a feeling he'll come good for us. His ability to win headers when we decided to lump it up everytime we had a goal kick was the reason Tevez replaced Silva, instead of him.

I think he needs either a strike partner or 2 winger-come-forwards either side of him. I personally would prefer the latter, with players like Sanchez and Hazard.

This is going to be an unpopular sentiment around here but in the long run, Tevez is a cancer to this team.

He provides short term success but if this team want to continue developing and forming a chemistry to win the title, he needs to go.

Who will score if Tevez is gone? Surely not Ballo or Dzeko. He has been nothing but a goal scoring machine since his introduction into the league, and has continued as such during his time with us.

Dreadful performance, but i really don't give a shit. Very worried about how we will replace Tevez though. I've been saying it all season... for me he's the best striker in the world. He's complete. Can dribble past players with ease, out-muscles even the strongest of centre backs, holds the ball up, good passing (for a striker), excellent work rate and determination. Oh... and he scores a goal every 1.3 games or something daft like that. He's been out for over a month, yet instantly oozes class when he comes on. The difference in our attacking play was there for all to see when he entered the field.

If he still wants to leave, the right decision is to let him leave, no doubt about it. But i really don't know how we go about trying to replace him. I'm not even sure it's possible to replace what he gives us.

But Champions League qualifiers, here we come! Roll on Saturday!

Couldn't disagree more. Tevez has always given 100% while he has been at City & is head & shoulders above any other forward we have at the club. I can't think of anyone who could replace him if he goes.

Thought De Jong did a great job marking VDV and kept him at bay. It's easy to watch those performances go unnoticed.

Richards was sublime, he really adds strengh in the air and is an attacking option going forward.

Silva, i love this guy, Kompany, solid as ever and Yaya.

Yeah sure we didnt play the best game, but really we had 3 brilliant chances that on other days would have been goals (Dzeko early on, Vieras cleared off the line and Tevez at the end).

Different tactics will be implemented for Stoke, Spurs are a complete different outfit...

Very harsh, Tevez has got us champs league. If anyones a cancer its that pillock Balotelli. Watching him makes me ill.
