We need to play strongest team and kill the game in the first leg. Hope they play as badly against us as they did against Forrest.

for all the hard of understanding on here ,it was west hams youth team that got turned over, those of you who think we are just going to turn up and put 3/4 easy goals past another prem team in a major cup semi final, are in for a shock ,you have been warned.

It depends on which team and front line pellegrini plays, but not wanting to be negative but after west ham's hammering today, can they play any worse think the game could be a frustrating one for us and end up like palace hundreds of chances and only sticking one away, hope im wrong and we do hammer them 4 or 5....

I think our squad and management are too experienced to take that attitude. However, we absolutely took apart WHUFC apart at Upton Park in the league (OK Kun was fit and brilliant that day) but we are so superior to them in every single department and have taken apart much much better sides at home this season. I know they'll set up like Palarse did against us but if we are on our game and crucially get an early(ish) goal then we should be able to stick at least 3 past them...

I think nearly everyone knows this to be fair so no need for you to forewarn us

Cheers

read some of the posts ,clearly not everyone knows this, cheers

Fat sam will set up up just like his mate tracksuit boy pulis did prepare for some seriously anti football weds night. Hope we start with a decent side and just put the tie out of sight early on

Patience is the key. Don't get frustrated if we don't get an early goal. But don't ease up near the end. We're capable of scoring 3 goals in the last 15 mins.

Agree. this is a two leg tie, need to keep hammering (sic) them right up to the end of the 94th minute (assuming +4 for some falling over time)

We can't underestimate them. West Ham fielded a heavily weakened team today (I felt so sorry for their fans that travelled) but this is a Semi Final and they're two matches away from Wembley in a trophy they can win. If they're not up to knock City off their perch then we'll destroy them - but I think it could be frustrating if they defend well.

Going 2-0 City if they field a strong team. Cricket score if they don't.

Whether they play a strong team or not, expect them to play 10 at the back and to do everything they possibly can to take this back to their place with something acceptable. Big Sam is Big Sam and he will first and foremost want to keep them in the Premier League so this week I can only see him again playing a weakened side because they have Cardiff away next Saturday which is a massive game for them. Going off the way they played today, we could easily get 5-6-7 in this game, I can only see tiredness being a factor that really keeps the score down.

Di Marzio: Belfodil over for a medical and signing on Tuesday on loan.

Belfodil, but insists West Ham want to buy half the Sassuolo

uitcase ready, destination yet to be determined. For Ishak Belfodil British sirens are always tempting. After the interest of QPR, West Ham back to the office on the player: this morning, in fact, sent to Inter documents in which formalizes the Algerian official offer for the striker. A loan sale Cleaning, Belfodil the opportunity to rediscover goal and minutes. The player will speak today with Inter Milan, West Ham already waiting for him in London Tuesday for a medical and signing. The QPR is back: his priority for the department is offensive Jelavic Everton. But there is one that could ruin the plans of the English clubs. The Sassuolo, in fact, offer a figure close to 4 million by the middle of Parma, which of course would like this solution better than the loan. The Sassuolo, therefore, remains in full swing. The future of Belfodil is yet to be written.

You just know he'll not train with the team then come off the bench and net the winner!

They did and I watched the game, what does not make sense is they were hell bent on playing a weakened team to save players for semi I would have rested Jarvis and Morrison too, Jarvis has been playing well and Morrison has just come back after hamstring strain(been out 2/3 weeks) and he will now play 2 games in 4 days. Whatever team they put out this is a semi one step from Wembley not a 3rd round cup game.

I'm sure West Ham's finances would prefer Premiership survival over a League Cup win. They could achieve both or neither!
