City's New Badge - Do You Like It?

The badge is class, even my Rag mates have said it’s a big improvement.

Anyway for those who hate blue shorts, me included, we’ve got white shorts and navy socks next year, finally!!

And the shirt is blue with white trim, it sounds like a belting kit and probably our best nike one yet.

Fantastic news!

Great badge and back to the proper City kit. I remember as a kid going to Maine Rd and David White was my hero, we had the round badge and the navy socks and sung "the best team in the land and all the world". I never thought we'd be able to sing that song and actually mean it.

The club changed so much, silly turkey badge, silly blue shorts, it was unrecognisable from the City of the 80s.

But next season, we'll have the round badge back, and we'll be wearing the proper City kit with navy blue socks. And David Silva, probably our greatest player ever will be wearing that same kit that David White and Paul Lake did all those years ago.

We could conceivably be singing "the best team in the land and all the world" and it would be true. What a fucking journey it's been.

....because before the 80s there was no City, right?!

I’m not a blue short fan. However, I’m not a navy sock fan, either.

Sky, white, sky...that’s the City I know and love.

I wasn’t suggesting that mate.

I was saying that I grew up watching City in the late 80s when it was blue, white and navy socks. That is Manchester City to me.

When I said the blue shorts etc were unrecognisable from the City of the 80s, I’m saying unrecognisable from the experience I had when I first started watching us.

You might have had a different experience and that’s absolutely fine, we all have our own perspective. I was just sharing mine, not trying to suggest it was the same for everyone.

My apologies. I misunderstood the underlying message. As a child of the 60s and 70s, the navy socks only remind me of the barren years of no names (even though there were a few gems in there).

  • Badge, the most bonkers song ever
  • Thinking 'bout the times that you drove in my car
  • Thinkin' that I might have drove you too far.
  • And I'm thinkin' 'bout the love that you laid on my table.

I told you not to wander 'round in the dark.
I told you 'bout the swans, that they live in the park.
Then I told you 'bout our kid, now he's married to mabel.

Yes, I told you that the light goes up and down.
Don't you notice how the wheel goes 'round?
And you better pick yourself up from the ground
Before they bring the curtain down,
Yes, before they bring the curtain down.

Talkin' 'bout a girl that looks quite like you.
She didn't have the time to wait in the queue.
She cried away her life since she fell off the cradle.

  • The new badge, reaching back to the old one (sold by you know who) is much better than that bloody Phoenix.

Best badge we’ve ever had and that’s with me disagreeing with it having the Red Rose of Lancaster on it

No because every team from the youth to the women’s and the men’s team can all use the same badge. The women’s doesn’t have to have WFC, for example. And it keeps it less cluttered

It’s cool, it takes a nod back to those old Northern Soul badges that’s started with Manchester’s Twisted Wheel, it’s back to being like our proper badge (that daft yellow turkey deep throating a banana was awful!)

They can still play for the football club despite being younger or female. Suggesting otherwise is borderline discrimination.
