Yep. This may be my last season of getting over to games. It's just too expensive now, with airfares and accommodation as well as the actual match ticket. And that's not counting any time off work that may hae to be taken. Flights from Knock to Liverpool used to depart in the late afternoon, so that wasn't so bad. Looking at times for the new season though, flight are leaving around 1pm. So that's a day's pay gone west. A trip over to a game could end up costing €350 upwards. It's impossible to justify more than one or two games a season. And prices won't be coming down in future seasons.

Jesus that's what you call an expensive day out mate, thankfully we are on tv a lot more these days, but tell me what the situation is in Ireland on a Saturday, say when city are not on BT or Sky,I've noticed my last few trips to Portugal (ok I know it's not Ireland) but can you get foreign channels,or is it just what we have plus Setanta Ireland, cause they seem to have a game on every Saturday at 3,or is that mainly an LFC or Rag or as I saw Spurs channel ?

How's the TV situation on Saturday work ?
Well; there is no saturday TV over here apart from the satellite channels you listed. There are some pubs that show the games that are on foreign satellite channels (Italy is quite a common one), but you can stream those on your computer if you know where to look. We don't even have a highlights programme on RTE on a saturday night any more. They scrapped it during the past season, presumably down to cost.

Great, well thats no bleeding good then for you, good old Ryanair it is fella again

Yep. Flybe fly direct into Manchester, and they seem to have lowered their prices somewhat. Just priced flights over for the Stoke game (can't do Liverpool with it being on the monday night, two days off work). Ryanair are €55 (flying into Liverpool on friday, out again on sunday) while Flybe are charging €104 to fly direct to Manchester (again, friday in, sunday out).

Re: Cityzen Prices Confirmed

So to renew 4 cards tomorrow it's going to be another £140 fucking joke to be honest, then you will find come the Liverpool game you will need something like 4000 pts to get a ticket. What's the point 2 of our card holders are serving in the miltary now and can only make so many games but will have no chance of the big games if they time off. Not taken long to become like that lot from OT.

Same for overseas members. We can only rack up limited points due to financial circumstances. That's why we'll never qualify for tickets for finals or big away games. It's just impossible. Not a lot that can be done about it, unfortunately.

Re: Cityzen Prices Confirmed

due to other commitments , there are 6 of us who go to 8 to 10 games a season , so we will have to pay for 4 adult and 2 junior cityzen cards for £180 , but the club have you by the bollocks , if your a long term supporter , its impossible to walk away and say fcuk it . . Just 3 or 4 years ago these cards cost nowt and the club were grateful they could consistently fill the stadium , but the increase in blue card / cityzen prices will mostly affect fa cup and league cup home games , because supporters who cant get tickets for league games , invariably went to the cup games , an increase in price of 40% whilst some people are struggling to pay their household bills is a massive mistake by the club , we will be lucky to get 25,000 for cup games , giving more ammunition for our rag friends.

I did'nt get a blue card last year and i got a ticket for every game i could get to.

Probably not quite as easy for the fan with a couple of kids to take though.

He is looking at £85 plus another load of cash to take them to that one off game.

Fucking ridiculous
That's not what i'm saying. I waited till they went on general sale, no need to pay the £85 .

Exactly. I think some of the responses have been a bit dramatic. You're not paying for the right to buy tickets you're paying for priority. I'm guessing the majority will go to general sale

Re: Cityzen Prices Confirmed

I unfortunately can't go to any games due to costs and my location, so this doesn't concern me too much. But I was thinking it would be nice if the City players all took a 1% wage cut per week to subsidise this rise (or perhaps even rid it completely?) for this card. It would be a nice gesture from the players and staff in recognition of the fans' support, including their sustaining their huge wages in the first place. 1% would hardly break their banks!
