Classic Rock (Phil Collins lives, run for the hills)

The one and only time at Donington.
Slade.
Whitesnake.
Blackfoot.
AC/DC.
Blue Oyster Cult.
The 1 to 5 my opinion that day.
Slade were made for the big festivals.

Shame it rained from mid afternoon.

I'd move Whitesnake to the top but otherwise agree with your order.

First time posting on this thread!

If I may be so bold, I absolutely loved the debut album from Gun back in 1989. A cracking Scottish band, and I can heartily recommend 'Taking on the World'.

At a time when House, Rap and other new genres were coming to the fore, to me, they were a Champion of new British rock around that time. I listened to it relentlessly.

Indeed, a very good debut album, I actually preferred Gallus. Very good live too, very strong lead singer. IIRC he left and the Little Angels singer stepped in ?

A band I do like. Apart from their raping of the Cameo classic. Horrendous!

Two new CDs purchased yesterday
Frost - Day and Age
Evanescence-The Bitter Truth
Brief reviews next week.

I got a couple of newly released box sets yesterday:

Vandenberg: The Atco Years
Be Bop Deluxe: Live in the Air Age

Almost 20 discs so could be a while before I could do a review although Live in the Air Age does feature multiple versions of the same songs.

Alice's latest album - Detroit Stories - is highly recommended. Hollywood Vampires aside, I think it is best thing he has done for some time. Produced by Bob Ezrin, who is having a great late career renaissance as a Classic Rock producer.
Really good album, bought it a couple of weeks ago.

hopefully this will be a popular choice but I’m going for the fathers of hard rock Black Sabbath.
Although Ozzy was integral to the band for so long I actually love The Mob Rules- Heaven and Hell period. I saw the line up with RDJ and thought they were excellent.

For some reason I was heavily into Pat Benatar for much of her career. These days I can’t quite figure that out even though I’ve got several of her albums. Again saw her live at Hammersmith Odeon which was great.

Other live Bs include Bon Jovi x 2 and Budgie.

Several B bands have had iconic hits including Boston, Blue Oyster Cult, Bad Company and Bachman Turner Overdrive plus newer bands such as Blink 182 and Bowling for Soup

and finally my partner bought me Biffy Clyro - A Celebration of Endings based on the fact I love the ballad “Space”. Although in the pop rock end of the spectrum for me I do enjoy the harmonies.

so come on please add your thoughts on anything Barclay James Harvest to Black Stone Cherry
