Might just be me, but I don't think they sound similar at all.

Should the investigation fins in favour of Chelsea, then all well and good and Clattenburg will probably never referee another game in this country again.
However, should they fail to find in their favour, will there be repercussions for them?
I think Clattenburg could have some comeback and would the FA investigate Chelsea for making the accusation?
Whilst you might dismiss this queston out of hand I am sure as hell glad it isn't City that have made the accusation and been the cause of the investigation. I think the Premiership and the rest of the football world will be taking a keen interest.

Clatternburg is an awful referee, the worst in the game, but to play a race card at him is lower than low. Considering the club has been at the Centre of a race row they're playing a dangerous game. If they're bullshitting I expect more than a fine, a points deduction would be sufficent
How are they backtracking exactly? The statement said that they were waiting for the advice of legal counsel before making an official complaint. Before that internal investigation was completed Mata claimed, of his own accord, that he hadn't personally heard anything and the Society of Black Lawyers somehow took it upon themselves to involve the police. Chelsea's counsel obviously believes that there is enough there to lodge a complaint and so they have, and made a clear statement informing us of as much.Crouchinho said:Amusing how Chelsea dropped the mata case and now backtracking with the mikel one, making some poor excuse about the northern accent.
