Claudio Bravo 18-19 Performances

It’s strange that he can do the things other keepers can’t but can’t do the basics other keepers can.

I’m really at a loss to know what to make of him. One report was saying if he has to replace Ederson then it gives the opposition their only chance in an otherwise amazing squad.Really didn’t enjoy reading that as it’s always my fear but I hope he’s bound to come good with the basics eventually.

Just a weird situation.

It’s always a risk with a number two. Pep has to have a keeper that can play the ball out with his feet so is fairly limited. Bravo can do that as he showed today although under more pressure than Chelsea put on him today, he can get flustered doing it. Keeping wise, he is very very average at best.

He was excellent today. Showed real confidence. Terrific backup for Eddie.

Aside from his misjudgement of the bouncing ball, he was very good.

The sense of uncertainty and panic you used to feel in the other players with Bravo in goal has gone, they trust him at the back now, and as a result we had some incredible passages of play passing out from the back where Chelsea had 2 players in our box and they were passing it back to Bravo like they weren't even there.

Also made some great catches in his box and released the ball incredibly quickly to create counter-attacks.

Fully agree, he's the best back up for our system possible. He looks confident on the ball and as you say, the rest of the team now seem to have confidence in him too. But for a poor touch from Sergio he could of had his second Wembley assist.

I thought he was really good today but still has these comedy moments in him. Distribution was great today, seemed calm most of the time, but the bounce was ridiculous, haha.

I dont, but I agree completely with what Bill is saying. He isnt where we are at. Maybe his age is a factor in that, I dont know. He just doesnt have the gravitas and solidity that we need

Who are we going to get that is as good at distribution and is willing to be number 2?

Because if they aren't as good at distribution, that will cost us in a different way. Look at the games Bravo has played in over the last 12 months. There's no need to panic.
