Completely agree with this. Ederson looks like he could be the answer to that but until then we'll either have to compromise on our entire system of play or compromise on our ability to keep a couple of shots out.

It's not a couple though is it,willy can give the distribution a go to the best of his ability for now,pep was telling him to kick it long last time he was in goal so i suspect he see's the need to be pragmatic for the time being,it's a mess really

then we'd almost certainly have a keeper who isn't as successful in the style of play which has lead to us conceding less shots. We'd either be back to hoofing the ball to our opposition nearly every time or the keeper wouldn't have the ability to play the kind of passes required to maintain possession in a small space on a consistent basis.

I don't understand your logic in the belief that they are not mutually compatible, a keeper who can save and kick is surely available somewhere, surely you don't really believe that being able to save a shot means you can not play as a sweeper keeper, or was this another barb at the unmentionable one ?

Exactly, and this is why I no longer take people seriously who clamour the return of Hart. He's the polar opposite of what we want. It's like playing on the counter attack with crouch instead of Aguero etc.

Not many people clamouring for him back, take Karen a huge erm you know who fan, has said countless times he wouldn't fit Peps system, I think you are getting confused with people who just want a keeper who is likely to save the odd shot directed within his compass.

It really is a shame for the bloke, a quality keeper but not at present well not for us, not watched him in any recent internationals to see if he becomes a different keeper or more to the point his old self when back in his national team, anybody seen his recent games for Chile ?

Let's not make this another Joe thing, everything that can be said about that has been said and it's all rather repetitive. I didn't even want to put the bracketed part because I knew someone would take it as a dig when it wasn't intended as one at all. I think he's a better shot stopper, it's as simple as that.

You're now sarcastically calling him 'the unmentionable one' but what your above statement says to me is simply that some people don't talk about Hart and you don't think the others should either. He's an important part of our history, was our number one less than a year ago and is still currently our player so what's your problem?

Of course I don't believe that because I'm not a total fucking moron. I've even mentioned another goalkeeper between then and now but you've either not seen it or are choosing to ignore it.
