Claudio Bravo - 2016/2017 performances (continued)

It's just the typical mentality. He did absolutely nothing wrong yesterday and his positioning for a few balls over the top was excellent.
Even when he cut stuff out or did things well yesterday people screamed at him.

A guy near was calling him a ducking clown for not picking up a back pass!

Leaving the ground you could hear people bemoaning him.

It kicked off near me in the Family Stand (!) because someone berated Bravo in the first half when Otamendi headed the ball out for a throw. Someone rightly took exception, saying "how the fuck was that Bravo's fault?!" and it escalated from there with the stewards getting involved. He seems to polarise the fans more than any player, with the possible exception of Sterling.

I sit in block 128, there's a guy a row behind who constantly shouts utter shit.
He screamed at Bravo for not picking up a back pass.
I resorted to calling him a thick **** and told him it was no longer the 80's and even Brsvo can't pick up a back pass.

Bravo does seem to divide the fans, he was largely faultless yesterday but even things he did well, he didn't do well enough for some.

His performances have dropped further recently and I've almost lost faith in him regaining his Chile or Barca form for us but he couldn't do anything about either goal and didn't have anything to do for the rest of the game.

Absolutely and totally blameless with regards to the result but some seem to think football is played on calculators rather than on the pitch.
I agree here. Think he's confidence "looks" shot. And while he hasn't been at fault for much of anything the last few games, I'd probably consider benching him for a few games and giving him a reset opportunity.

you can't really blame him for the two goals yesterday. they did after all fall between the posts so not much he could do.
our throwing away 2 points was completely down to pep. we were gifted 2 goals off a sorry spurs. with kolorov and clichy in the side to begin with that was a miracle as it was.
stones/vinny or both should have been on the moment the second goal went in.

Whatever we think, once he is picked by Pep, we should all get behind him. Tbf, its very similar to how Willie was looked on originally until he had him Wembley moment. If Bravo is going through a crisis of self confidence the crowd on his back will make it much worse. I thought yesterday wouldn't it be nice to have a Bravo song and 50,000 belting it out to tell him we are supporting him. I'll bet he would have really appreciated that rather than the abuse he must hear. But then I am a bit of a happy clapper.

Which goals should he have saved yesterday?
If you're saying he should/could have saved either then clearly you do have an agenda.
The fact you're saying Lloris earned spurs a point yesterday and using his performance to criticise bravo shows you have an agenda.
The fact you're saying every player in the premier league knows something (which clearly neither of us could possibly know) and using it to criticise bravo shows you have an agenda.

Like those who claimed Bravo won us 3 points against Burnley for making a save after he gifted them a way back in, then?

Tit for Tat.

It shouldn't be tit for tat though - it's not a contest.
I agree he should have done better for burnley's goal. That would be fair and reasonable criticism.
What doesnt sit well is the disproportionate criticism he's getting, such as yesterday.

I think yesterday showed how much better it is in the stadium when there is a bit of unity between the fans, players and club. It was absolutely fantastic.

Let's just get behind the whole team, maybe even give players the benefit of the doubt every now and then. And that includes bravo.

I wasn't going tit for tat just to make that clear
I comment on here my concerns but at the game he should be fully supported

Not seen it on TV yet thought he could have done better with second from where I was,I'll reserve judgement what I will say is he never seems to have a chance with anything between the posts every striker we face must be on a lucky day when they face us.
