The problem for the players I guess is that it appears few of them actually liked Mancini because of his alleged arrogance and superiority complex. So, they can play for the club and win and let the guy they dislike take all of the credit for it or they can play the way they actually did - with no passion, determination or pride.

Doesn't say much for their professionalism if that was the case.

In some respects, I agree moomba. I suppose the flip-side is : imagine you are part of a sales team and your manager is a complete wanker to his team. Every time the team performs well, the bosses love him even more but he continues to be an arse-wipe to his sales team. You keep hitting your targets and he keeps earning a fat team bonus earning all the plaudits yet continues to treat you and the sales team like shit. At what point do you say "fuck this" and demand happiness in your work in addition to decent pay? We all need to be inspired by our leaders don't we?

Would you say txiki made an error and contributed to the severity of the leak once it occurred by having a previous meeting in public with pellegrini's agent?

It would have been better for him not to be seen, but most on here were happy to put it down to player aquisitions. It only caused a ripple in the press rather than the storm which erupted on Friday night.

It would have been in everyone's best interests, as these things always are, for the whole thing to have gone on in secret, of course. But when you're at the very top that's close on impossible to achieve. A lot of people are involved in a football deal. You can very rarely keep a lid on that. United did a reasonable job with Ferguson but the Moyes link has been around for a long time and the resignation rumour buzzed around for a week.

People are just focussing their anger in any way they can. It's human nature. It was exactly the same when Hughes went and I was as supportive of the club's hierarchy then as I am now.

Without wanting to stir the honey pot, I'm very impressed with the ruthless way the Barca boys dealt with Mancini and the way they kept their counsel all season. They saw he wasn't right and they got rid. As long as they appoint the right successor they've done their job.

I’m not criticising the club for sacking mancini. But i do think we were naive.
You cant stop leaks but you can attempt to lessen their impact.
There is no doubt it affected the FA cup final and I think some lessons will have been learned.
Txiki and Soriano are very experienced but you’re never too experienced to get caught out every now and again.
They won’t regret the decision they have made obviously but i think they may admit privately it could and should have been handled better.

I said something similar yesterday. The leak came at the worst possible time and while I accept the club were pretty much blameless, they could've put out a statement saying as far as they were concerned Mancini is still the manager. It would've been bullshit of course but clubs do this kind of thing all the time and it would probably have quelled the speculation in the run up to the final.

I keep doing my job to the best of my ability until I find a different one.

If I down tools and don't hit my targets I'll deserve my P45 as well as the boss.

May I say that the responses to my post about popping-off at Ms. Kloss demonstrate why I chose my username. It's not as though I was being subtle.

*sigh*
the sad thing is that apart from the last line about Arabs, there are probably plenty who would agree with what you posted and possibly even some who will do exactly what you suggested in jest.

I have supported City since 1966 and I am glad we are making a change. Mancini was helped a lot last year by the positive outlook of Khaldoon after thye Arsenal game. Khaldoon's video after we got pipped by Spurs to fourth place tells you all you need to know about the chairman and the owners - very positive, can do, lets get on with it attitude.
These are the best owners in the premier league and they are peculiarly generous and the amount of investment - not just in players but around the ground speaks volume. I say farwell Roberto - thanlks a lot and hopefully it will be Pellegrini and if Malaga's performance against Dortmund is anyhthing to go by he will really be great for us.
I wonder when it will be when Moyes tells his team to kick everyone hard at least once and dive if you get touched.

PR is about fucking lying. Malcolm Tucker knows it. The United media is lying from morning to midnight. Their PR is very good like it or not.
We have Vicky Kloss making sure every journo can take the piss about Mancini, the players, the club, the problems inside the club and they even get coffee and cake personally from Vicky everytime they write some awful shit.

Everyone hated Mancini so much in the club yet they gave him a 5 year contract.
But Mancini is probably lucky with his 3.5 years compared what will the next managers get here...

Some on here either need to grow u or stop drinking on empty heads

They've won two major trophies in 3 seasons whilst putting up with Mancini's nonsense. Maybe this season was a stretch too far in terms of putting up with him. That's not a slight on their professionalism at all.
