If Mancini is backed to the hilt, and it appears this is the case, this might just be the incident that brings the team together. If the manager appears weak, factions appear to fill the void. A strong manager creates unity. This whole episode may be the catalyst that unites and propels the team to greater heights....

Here's hoping..
Very interesting and good point.

-- Wed Oct 12, 2011 8:03 pm --

Give over, Dave, if anything it will help galvanise the club.

Do you really think that the players were happy that Carlos refused to come on in such a huge game? (and let's not have any of that "he just refused to warm up" nonsense, we all know he refused to come on as we saw it with our own eyes)

They may not stab him in the back but they will most certainly be glad to see the back of him.
Thats correct as far as I am aware.

The lines 'The Club has now reached a stage in its investigation where it has concluded that there is a case for Carlos Tevez to answer of alleged breaches of contract.'

and 'Accordingly, the Club has informed him that he will face disciplinary proceedings and the hearing will be convened shortly.'
Pretty much sums it up to me, laymans terms - You fucked up and now your gonna face the punishment.

I think that his suspension will be extended (pending PFA approval) and he'll be shipped out in January.

Because he has to 'Report to' does not mean he is training.

The word 'alleged' takes away all claims and counter claims, the club cannot say 'he did or did not' until the final outcome of the hearing, the word 'alleged' cover their asses.

Correct. This hearing is only in the investigation stage. Everything is alleged so far and nothing yet proved, legally speaking.

The interesting words of the statement are contract breaches which implies that we are leaving all disciplinary outcomes open i.e. sacking; and report to Mancini which appears to me, a backing or vindication of Mancini's position.

Tevez is history and quite rightly so, whether by sacking or selling is largely irrelevant.

I think and am prepared to be quoted and righted if I am wrong, but due to some bullshit ruling in the FA/Prem the club can only suspend him for a maximum of 2 weeks pending disciplinary, rules stating we have to allow the guy back now and must do until the end of the hearing,
If the club are to pursue a breach of contract then the club must be 100% squeeky clean with their process.

My understanding is that with the approval of the players association he could be fined and benched for a maximum of six weeks.

Even if every word Tevez has said has been true, he is toast!

Can't sit on the bench and dictate to the Manager when you will or will not warm up! Tevez has form in this area already, when he sneaked back onto the back row of the bench when Mancini had asked him to warm up last season. if you remember that occasion, he left bench with a big shit eating grin on his face behind Mancini's back, of course! Acted like a 13 year old who had got caught looking at the glossy centerfold! Idiot who never deserved with the captaincy or the special treatment he got. he just took it all too far this time, and with one of the largest games in Man City's recent history in the balance.

Tired of the second-guessing of Mancini's tactics by media, pundits and even us fans. He has done more for this club in two years than anyone for a generation, and more! Time to sit back, let him discuss his team issues with his coaches and STFU.

Don't worry, as soon as we hit a sticky spot the knives will come out quickly enough. Until then, I applaud the manager for making a firm, definitive statement almost immediately. ANY pressure to play Tevez from this point forward should be considered constructive dismissal by Mancini and he would be well within his rights to walk and take a fistful of money with him.

It is no wonder Fergie and the other managers came out immediately in his favor, because ANY inkling that this kind of player power can be condoned and their jobs are not worth having. Club have shown who the Boss is and Tevez has clearly decided he thinks he knows better than the Boss. That only ends in tears for one of them, and Mancinin seems pretty calm about the whole thing, while Tevez' agent is tap dancing as fast as he can!

Forza Mancini!
Arrivederci Tevez!

Some bloke (pundit/reporter type in the studio, not a presenter) on SSN just saying:

"Sources close to the club say City want to make an example of him, want to show Mancini is the boss and will put him in the reserves to stew in his own juices until January when they will sell him."

id stick him on the bench against Villa ,im sure the fans have a message or two for him.

Tevez would have been held in the same regard as Legends like Bell, Kinkladze, Goater and Dickov. Now he will be held in the same regard as Keane, Rooney and Neville! He is the exception to the rule once a blue always a blue!

Not sure the player's association can do much when it becomes a legal matter, as these alleged breaches of contract appear to be.

And, I would not be surprised if City refer the matter to FIFA and UEFA, if Tevez or Joorabchian try to weasel their way through this process!
