Cole Palmer

Was initially disappointed when Palmer departed , a local academy product but he ws never going to be a regular in our team this season , Chelsea offered him a good deal and better chance starting games , so good luck to the lad.
What has softened the blow is the signing of Doku , i wouldnt swap Doku for Palmer , we have unearthed an absolute gem
Summed up perfectly jimmy

I’d say so if it was a few mil, but for the money we got, enjoying seeing him stand out in a disorganised/disorientated team.

It's a shame he couldn't break in properly with us, but he had stagnated and the new scenery is what has rejuvenated him.

And, importantly, the opportunity to start every game in a mess of a team and be able to take risks and play his own game without too much pressure on him personally.

It's been a great move for him.

I think it was best for all parties. Palmer was probably getting told a lot of clubs wanted him, and at his age, he probably felt like he needed more assurances from City to play for him to develop like he wanted to.

City couldn't give him that, so he went. We got a really good fee, Chelsea got a really good player, and Palmer got the minutes he wanted.

It reflects well on City that a fringe player could go somewhere else and be star. It also reflects well on the academy that one of its players could be a star.

He's doing well, but he's doing well at a team that currently sits in mid table having just over half the number of points we have after just 11 games. And even that is after they huffed and puffed their way to a win against 9 men. Would anyone be asking this question if he had been sold to Crystal Palace and performing the same as he does for Chelsea?

If you look at it in terms of FFP in makes a lot of sense. If we sign a player on a 5 year contract their transfer fee is divided over the 5 years. Selling Palmer for £45m is pure profit so we could spend £225m on players and it would be recorded as the same value. Selling him alone has left us in profit from the summer transfer window.

He was the best player on the pitch when there was 11 each so what’s your point ?
No disrespect to Cole but Chelsea were absolute shit all over the pitch tonight so that wouldn't be so hard to accomplish. That said, good for us that Spurs lost their discipline and basically gave away the game. Chelsea were shockingly poor even at 11 v 9...
