Cole Palmer

In a weird way Brighton wanting Palmer makes me want to keep him more. They are pretty good at scouting up and coming talent.
Yes but to be fair it's blindingly obvious that he's extremely talented and technically gifted.

Part of their success is not only in identifying it, it's giving them the platform to develop and succeed. He might develop there in a way he wouldn't if he stayed here.

But I agree I now think we should keep him this season, give him another chance to claim his place. I don't think his value will decrease anyway.

I’m not against selling, there is a glass ceiling for these guys and if you just loan, the other clubs will not necessarily play them as they do when they are there own.

The buy backs sound good, but reality is we have not really used them (Angelino, I believe is only one but could be wrong).

However, they do provide some protection as does the sell on clause.

The Levia one is interesting as we don’t have it this season and as such they can sell without us having the option.

However, do we potentially have it anyway. If they are wanting £50 million and they have to give us £10 million, then if they buy out was £40 million we are still in a position to do the deal, arguably under more favourable payment terms.

£30 million is good money for him and he is no Foden.

McAtee I would be more upset if we do not give him a go as I think he deserves a season in and around the squad to see if he can make the step up.

Think the Brighton deal will be up to 30 million with the various add ons which won't be reached because they'll probably sell him the season after for 60 million

The game has gone daft.
It went daft a long time ago.
It's gone even dafter.

£30m for a lad being nurtured along the same lines as Foden, but is still no more than a prospect.

City would be mad to turn any such deal down, particularly if it includes a buy back clause.

McAtee probably next to go.
I read this as a poetry. Not bad

If he can be the Mahrez replacement he will get plenty of game time. The club & pep need to give him some patience and let him develop - but it doesn’t seem to happen with any of our young players that much

That's the sad truth. Many of our young players are simply paying the price of our success. Only a dreamer would expect to stay at City for their whole career.

The standard of City’s academy is second to none. Player after player we are starting to reap some very good fees. Young players can see a way through our academy into top level professional football. The only issue is when you sell one too early like lavia and he don’t want to come back. That is the exception, overall we develop good footballers and make a ton off cash.

Palmer is good but has he reached his ceiling. I would take 30-40m now.

Loan yes, sell defo not
I'd rather neither to be honest. I think he's an absolutely amazing player and could easily become Foden level at least. He has an iffy season last year, looking like he was too desperate to impress and it kind of got the better of him.

But we should not be put off by that - it will surely click for him soon and then everyone will be saying how incredible he is. Hopefully as a City player!
