I can have a good time and enjoy myself with or without singing.

Really !. Surely you have a better time singing and gettin behind the team rather than sittin In silence? . It's as if these silent sitters are too affraid of what people think of them

'oh, I best not sing as people might think I'm a bit silly. I'll just sit here in silence and keep my head down' .

Fookin liven up, people!.

Cup games have always been like this, i dont get it where i sit in 212 it wont be like that on Saturday,

I took the misses last night for her first game, and she said why is there no singing,

But on a brighter note she said i get why you go the aways games,

No. I just prefer to act how I want to act, not how someone tells me to act.

Whose tellin you to act in a particular way ?. It just baffles me why people choose to sit in silence rather than sing and get behind the team .

Again, we need a proper singin section sorted so the singers can get together rather than bein stuck between a bunch of boring fookers .

I'm in 111 which is fun, and as a rule join in every song except the ones about United. It means I join in about 50% of the chants on a good day. Think more people would be more inclined to join in the chanting if they thought they were backing the team rather than getting their digs in on the 7th best side in the league.

I wondered when the song police would turn up on this thread.

I don't sit in silence but have no problem with those that do. Perhaps they like watching football.

Who brought about 4000 more fans than the last time they played us at our place.

It was their day out against a team that they were under no pressure to get a result against and a rare opportunity for their fans to get away from all the shit that's been going down at Ewood Park these past few seasons and simply enjoy the occasion. Seriously, is it any surprise that they made a racket?

-- Thu Jan 16, 2014 9:09 am --

The east stand corner has been quieter this season but it still shits all over the south stand. Who I never hear a noise from at all. I sit in the north stand And that corner is always louder, the south stand just seem to have arms folded

You are talking out of your arse mate. Every thread about the atmosphere you always make the same negative point which is actually 100% wrong.

When ss is given to away fans and ss gets split up the whole ground can see its quieter. Singing section doesn't actually sing. They only started when it went 3-0 v blackburn.

here was 111's chance to prove its them who make the noise. They couldn't be arsed

As it's already been politely pointed out, there were plenty of non-regulars in 111 last night so that definitely impacted on the atmosphere. It wasn't great but it got going a lot more in the second half.

Just out of interest, how much singing did you do last night?

First of all hats off to the singing corner, to the South stand and to the fans who work so hard in the 1894 group who are trying to create an atmosphere.

Without you guys there would be nothing and without any atmosphere watching football in total silence would be nothing and nowhere near the exciting spectacle that it is.

I sit in East 102 and am very vocal but there really are only a handful in this area who try and join in.

There are several problems and the most obvious is seating and numbered seating. Everybody talks about the old Kippax but it wasn't the entire length of the old Kippax that was vocal and noisy . The lads that wanted to get involved and sing and shout paid their money and then stood together towards the away standing area and over the singing tunnel. Towards the middle and the North stand of the Kippax would be blues who just enjoyed standing.

We can't go back to those days and so maybe the corner and South stand need to bait the lazy boring fans in the remainder of the stadium by using their famous wit. I propose a joint rendition from the south stand and singing corner to the tune of "the City is ours" and at the same time pointing to the CB, East and North stands.

" The atmosphere's Shit"
" The atmosphere's Shit"
" You lazy bastards "
" The atmosphere's shit"

This friendly piss taking jolt would get a reaction of that I am sure. Banter between the north stand and the "new" Kippax at Maine Road like this used to work a treat .

Give it a try all you South standers and Kippax corner. The boring lazy fans need to be told :) we need banter between all four stands .

Poor last night. It wasn't helped by as usual for a cup match us losing half our signing area and those fans being fired all around the ground.

The rest of the ground not just the two SS 's could do with doing more. But having been moved around in cup games due to being in the South normally I can't see much chance of other parts getting going our fan base just isn't up to it.

As for the Blackburn fans...they were crap at Ewood and if they'd put as much effort in as they did last night they could have pushed Rovers onto a win in the original tie.
