I don’t know whether this is light hearted or serious but in a democratic decision made by a whole group of effected people, I would whole heartedly agree.

Less so, when a few people on a football forum have decided to call a boycott with no consultation with anybody.
I normally find out about boycotts at least 10 years after the game, although we have never really done one.

Huge difference in not boycotting a football match and being called a scab re crossing a picket line when people’s livelihoods are at risk

Slagging off Blues who will watch a City match come what may is fucking cunts’ behaviour. I will be going but will not be slagging anyone off who decides not to, and I fully support the reasons behind that. But stop being sad cunts having a pop at people who take a different view. Sad and pathetic, “oooh you didn’t agree with the majority view, you’re a scab etc”

The idea of the boycott was put forward by some City fans. 1894 and 3 City Matters Reps. An explanation why was also given. With a link for people who have decided not to go to donate to the food bank if they want to donate.

There is no consultation. It's a general discussion about the boycott via this thread on BM. And in person between City fans, if they know about the boycott. If they don't know about the boycott, fair enough

Regardless of people's views on the matter, if people want to go and aren't boycotting the game, good for them. That's their choice. I don't have a problem with that. Enjoy the day

Reading the thread. One or two posters are starting to get irate, abusing others, when all the have to post is I'm going or I'm not going. It's as simple as that. There's no need to swear at and abuse other posters.

osc has sent this to branches and no branches were consulted as always it a few sitting up in osc or even kevin parker himself just deciding in his head for everyone and that's it:

Good afternoon all

You may have seen on Social Media a call from The 1894 Group to Boycott The Community Shield bring played at Wembley on Sun 6th August 2023 -Kick off 17.30hrs

Can I firstly say I think everyone agrees that the day and in particular the Kick Off time are ridiculous and give no consideration at all to any Supporter wanting to attend, particularly those attending

from outside London

However having spoken to our Chair Alan Galley we have agreed that we cannot support the call for a Boycott

Do we support any individual member who wants to boycott - Yes

However we do not see it as our role to tell our members whether to

boycott or not as some will want to attend and by telling them not to

compromises their position

Kevin Parker

General Secretary, OSC

Manchester City FC Supporters Club (1949)
The OS were supporting Swales to the very end hence why another supporter club was set up. So, no surprise that they wont support a boycott that is a protest against how supporters are treated

I’d agree anyway but I highly doubt it’s the majority view of people who had any intention of going anyway without the ‘boycott’

Exactly mate.

People going or not going need to calm down. Make your decision. If you want to talk about it, fair enough, but don't start abusing and slagging other forum members off because of the decision they've made.
