Community Shield | Post-Match Thread

at the back of 641 block..about three or four genuine blues = no songs --- literally throughout the whole game = 0 songs ..i can understand the apathy. we have been there about 30 times in 12 - 14 years ..but as been said here ...its a derby still! Yooonited taking the piss on the tubes..everywhere ,...city give us a song...no 'city fans' near me would have known one!
In Cornwall at present caught the last 20 mins and pens, and it struck me the many thousands of tourists in our end. Seemed to be a real apathy for this game, celebrations very muted when we won the shootout. It said it all about the interest in this game when only 2 members of our supporters branch out of 130 wanted a ticket

We were in the Chinese End! :-)
Most ever number of half and half scarves in our end. I am not too irked by them usually - but in a derby match??? Do me a favour, please!
Really enjoyed the win though, especially after we thought we’d blown it, twice!
Went back to Ruislip after the match and had a great curry, more beer and a big sing-song on the minibus on the way home. All in all yet another great trip to Wembley and I am really looking forward to the next one.
Tell me about it. Going to the Etihad on the Metro these days is like being on the Shanghai Express.

I got huge pleasure at the match watching the anguish of their fanbase. Perhaps I am just an old bitter blue but I enjoyed their reluctant guard of honour as much as our trophy lift. It was my 93rd Derby match and I will never get tired of beating them.

With the added bonus of pissing Roy fucking Keane off because of their " guard of honour ".

That **** unjustifiably gets far too much airtime and arselicking , giving him the opportunity to revel in his own history.

As many have said we are at Wembley a hell of a lot these days and it's only a just over a couple of months since we were last there. Our abject performance that day and the fact we normally go in half baked in the charity shield and lose had many thinking it wasn't worth the time and expense. Luckily our recent success means we now sell out for such games as the tourists take up the slack.

When we weren't very good a trip to Wembley was just a dream we were never going to live. That's why even a third tier play off final we took 46,000 and could have doubled it if allowed. That was old school Blues back then as well, no tourists.

Saturday was the future and it's what the club appear to want. Maybe if the tourists become regulars their passion may increase, who knows?
