When I was a kid our coach made me put my football boot on my left foot and normal trainer on my right foot. I was only allowed to touch the ball with the foot that had the footy boot on. After a while I'd have to take them off, put a footy boot on the right foot and a trainer on the left and carry on. I was only about 7 or 8 at the time but I've always classed myself as both-footed thanks to that little exercise that got me going with both pegs. Pretty simple and very handy really. I'd imagine a lot of clubs at all levels would employ this kind of training. There's a few drills that focus on improving touch with both feet.HongKongBluey said:Bellamy's Caddy said:Completely agree, but do players spend time doing extra work these days? How people like Gareth Barry, Martin Petrov etc can get to play at this level and have so little ability on their ''wrong foot'' is beyond belief. Personally I think all players should practice, or be made to practice with their other foot as it opens up so many more options.
I don't get it, skateboarders and snowboarders do tricks 'switch', I don't understand while professional footballers who are payed 10 million times more, don't improve their weaker foot? Why not practice your left like your practice your right?
Its unbelievable more people aren't two footed in profesional football.
He's never been marked tightly by more than one player until he picks up the ball, at which point he's doubled up on and as usual fails to get in a cross or do anything productive. He's not hard to mark, he stands on the touchline, never offering, barely even contributing to the side. I was quite excited about Tevez's absence, I thought it'd give us a chance to play Dzeko upfront with Balotelli and Silva either side, but now quite frankly I wouldn't mind having Tevez back as long as Johnson is dropped.Rammyblues said:He might not have contributed too much in that Blackburn game maybe the fact that the opposition had three players marking him might have had something to do with it, if teams mark him to that extent surely it means they think he is a threat and thereby allowing more room for our other players.
