Conscription

I served 1984- 1990, utterly shit pay, great food. In Germany non commissioned personnel lived at the bottom of the system. When Munster Berghoff took over the married accommodation, apart from one block, they deemed all other unfit for human habitation.
They can't retain personnel, simple things like taking leave are difficult and there is still zero help when you leave.
One idea would be to only deduct NI from their wages.
Pay as you dine now as well, apparently the food is still shit!

Read somewhere that apparantly Finland is a bad place to invade based on the mountainous terrain, the roads and the fact that every Fin has a rifle and knows how to use it......
See 1939-1940 The Winter War. Russia lost around 150k troops with 200k wounded to Finland's 26k dead and 44k wounded. Many of the Russian losses were due to frostbite.

Russia also lost around 1200 tanks to Finland's 30.

The Finnish seriously punch above their weight, it also helps that they are all mental and seem to be impervious to alcohol.

If Russia would have had the big bomb the discussion would have been when to use it and not if, it changes nearly everything.

Vlad? Hardly.

Maybe just do your own research in future.

I would call active troops and reservists more than just people of 'fighting age'
Can you explain then why this vast super power army (millions strong apparently) hasn't taken Kyev, had thousands fleeing in fear of being conscripted as soon as the invasion started, is fielding 1960s weaponry, using Lifers to fight and having to beg weapons from China and Korea?

Simo Häyhä had some crazy kill to death ratio! The Finns are mental like you say.
