Considering becoming a vegetarian

we don’t know how low the bar was before you started though ;-)
Courgette, aubergine and Tomato gratin for us this evening.
I get what you are saying re how animals are treated though. I will only eat meat that I am comfortable regarding the provenance. If the butcher can’t tell me the coo’s name I’m not interested. Other than the steak pie at the Etihad that is.

I can preach to no **** the time it took me. It just got to a point where I ran out if the shut excuses I gave. I agree about finding more ethical sources. That was my last excuse I used, but, in the end it wasn't enough. I'm not a fan of vegetarian food though. Probably never will be. It's ok and that's about the best I can say. I'm not doing it for better tasting food, I'm doing it because I couldn't take anymore of my own bullshit excuses.

oh great, a thread about vegerianism and all the predictable responses come piling in.

I've been vegetarian for nearly 40 years and taken a handful of days off sick in all that time so clearly surviving OK.

OP, just do it and stop being a **** ;-)

Stopped eating meat and fish last October and I feel a million times better, still have the occasional egg and cheese but that’s it, training has improved and I’ve had none of the afore mentioned spots, wish I’d done it a lot sooner. Watching BGT the other week and them all crying about the cruelty dogs were being subjected to yet no one bats an eye lid to pigs, sheep cattle and chicken being treated even worse, hypocritical wankers.

I’ve been vegan now since about April 2018. The boom in vegetarian/vegan options is massive in those 2 years.

if you want to drop meat for health reasons. Make sure to do research to find where you get your needed vitamins. (Obviously helpful to know this whatever the reason)

If you’re doing it for the sake of the animals, but don’t know where to begin, just make the changes step by step; use plant based milk instead of your regular, switch to a dairy free butter alternative and then maybe have days where you don’t eat meat.

If you fall off the wagon and you’re doing it for animal welfare reasons, don’t beat yourself up, just get back on.
