Corinthians make 35 million bid for tevez (MERGED)

I would take it now, add the €10m or so and show it to Atletico this afternoon.

This could be the start of firm Aguero action. And judging from his game last night, he would be perfect.

Still cant understand how Corinthians are going to spunk up that amount of cash?????

-- Tue Jul 12, 2011 11:00 am --

Do we take £35m for Tevez now and go all out for Aguero, or do we wait until someone comes in with a £40m bid and THEN go for Aguero?

For the sake of £5m then its too much of a risk. Sort it now I say

Take the offer now and get Aguero signed right away, we don't really have time to waste. I am actually shocked we have only signed Clichy and Savic so far considering Mancini wanted all his signings to be done before the Pre-Season begins and also considering that in a month the Premier League season will begin....

I would only accept if they offer a CASH deal equal to Aguero's buyout figure.
I know as little as anyone else, but I would imagine this first bid wouldn't be a straight cash deal.
There is mention of sponsors etc being involved and I bet this first offer would be loaded with all sorts of conditions etc and we could end up getting a lot less than the headline figure the media are guessing at.
Especially in a year or two when he stars agitating for a move from Corinthians to Boca.

At the end of the day we set a £50m price tag, why would we accept £15m less just because its a non-European club, and why should we too? £45m minimum, or £40m and add ons. £35m from £50 set fee would look weak.

Because we will risk having to keep a player who does not want to be here and will be worth even less in the next window....

This is bad news. I was hoping that no bids would come in and we could keep him. It is easier to say "let Tevez go" when you haven't watched him play for a few months: however the reality is he is the best player to ever play for city in our history, and his importance to us is born out in the percentage of goals he has scored for our team.

I would rather keep a desperately unhappy Tevez [who has proven himself to be an absolute professional on the field at all times even if he can be a dick off it] rather than pocket £50 million [which would then have to be reinvested in another player who, let's face it, would be inferior to Tevez unless his name was Ronaldo or Messi].

All depends on whether there is interest from any other clubs with regards to buying him for close to £50mil, if theres no indications that City know of they are put in a tough situation because this could be our only chance of selling him this summer

Tevez hasn't wanted to be here for over a year now; his feelings are irrelevant as long as his performance on the pitch does not suffer. I think Tevez is incapable of not giving 100% on the field of play at all times...

I'd wait to see what madrid are gonna offer. Surely us confirming the corinthians bid is us trying to get madrid to show their hand?
