There is a report on a study on 5 Live that found 88% of people who contracted the virus kept antibodies for at least six months.

The U.K. Biobank Study was informed by weekly blood samples from people had had Covid

I am largely optimistic too but these are vaccines against the original virus so we have to operate in such a way that transmission is not allowed to take off again in the UK.
so we vaccinate people but keep all the restrictions just in case and we effectively just give up on large sectors of our economy such as music, arts hospitality and entertainment forever. They have been sacrificed so far for this virus and some on here think that that should continue presumably in perpetuity to deal with new variants. Which lets be honest are going to keep appearing. Personally i dont think thats a realistic option going forwards. Its easy for those who have no vested interest in those sectors to make such decisions, but it doesnt make it fair.

What I mean by my last statement is that the government during the last economic recession pumped between £400bn and £500bn into the banking sector. Last year they put in £1.5bn into the arts and entertainment sector and very little of that filtered down to individual people and when questioned about the lack of support they told people to retrain.

I guess my question more generally is can we use analytics etc. to create probabilities on different mutations based on what the current variants are doing and modify vaccines to anticipate the most likely potential mutations and stop them off from evading the vaccine...

I think it would theoretically be possible - the shape each will form can be modelled.
However whether each could evade is far harder I'd think, and covering a 'potential' may mean it wouldn't work against existing ones.

50 people all fined for attending a house party on Bristol.

I'm not sure what the answer is, but these Fuckwits don't give a shit about the lives of others and fines don't seem to be a strong enough deterrent
For me it would be heavy fines for each person attending, not just the host. Then an even heavier fine for the host. As well as Community Service for the lot of them.

CS is hugely needed at the moment. Households need food delivering, communities need food banks, streets need litter picking and graffiti removing, streets need overgrowth of weeds and street plants cutting down/removing ...

Force the cunts to do these sort of thing. And if they refuse to pay their fines they should be made to do CS for the NHS; hospitals need cleaning and sanitising, PPE sorting out distributing on the front line.

I wouldn't want these twats anywhere near a hospital, goodness knows what they might do.
Probably, many couldn't afford the fines also.

I would like for these scum of society:)
Their faces and names made public and a mandatory police record.

I agree with some form of Cs too, but that which is humiliating, picking up litter and dog shit for example

yaaaayy - daughter in bed for 5 days having tested positive and wife same for 3 days and finally our £23bn world beating track and trace has called........ when they rang to speak to our daughter we told them - truthfully - she was in bed exhausted. The response? Oh right and the phone goes down - daughter could be at work or the shops but zero interest shown by track and trace. Then they rang the Mrs 10 mins later and told her to stay at home..........thats VFM right there
