Another week on and further improvements. Today my Dad and I were discharged from the care of the Covid virtual ward, our oxygen levels have remained over 96 for 4 consecutive days, and no oxygen used since last Saturday.

Taking in full breaths still feels amazing!

Great news, onwards and upwards.

Here's the data (all settings deaths by day of death). You can clearly see the rate of drop is higher from the 2nd peak

How is it possible? Some possibilities:

1) Masks
2) Significant proportion of the population immune now
3) Better controls in workplaces
4) Better compliance to the rules

Your guess is as good as mine though.
I know its already known, and maybe there were other contributing factors but you've got to ask whether Christmas was worth it. The graph really highlights the issue.

For what its worth, I think its unlikely to continue on the steep downward trend they're predicting (assuming the grey bits are a prediction) - it will be slower than that, but hopefully the vaccine helps

The grey bits are just the most recent days, which will rise as more deaths are reported. They're not a prediction.

Christmas was a disaster predicted. You can clearly see in the regional data those areas left in tiers 2 and 3 over Christmas suffered far more than the tier 4 areas (which was essentially the same as current lockdown)
