Just called round and had a chat through an open window, he's comfortable but even though he's had the virus for nearly two weeks his cough is causing a lot of discomfort, he's also quite weak after today's episode.

I've tried to link Tolmie in on this but can't do so for some reason, he mentioned a drug that helps with the coughing, if Tolmie reads this or if anyone can remember what's it's called please let me know, cheers.
I think he said it was codeine linctus

Strong Pholcodeine linctus. Ask someone to get it you from the chemist. It will defo help with coughing, trust me.

Doctors put me on to it. Can take a spoonful three or four times a day.

It has a strong taste, will initially catch the back of your throat, maybe space you out.

Docs explained that after a while, the coughing also becomes programmed by the brain, irrespective of Covid, it forms learned behaviour, so the linctus helps break the cycle.

Worth a read.

Lot of similar opinions to what I’ve heard too.

The roadmap that they’re going with is exactly what our chief pharmaceutical officer briefed us just after Christmas, think I posted here at the time that June was predicted as the end date.

Big difference and again a potential blocker to a lot of it is going to be one of their own making again and that’s the policy on schools, really was expecting a phased return.

Should also be looking at Moderna coming on stream and not far of Johnson and Johnson one shot getting cleared.
I wonder whether they’re lining the J&J one-shot up for the under 30s. Would be a good way of making sure most of the population are fully vaccinated by the end of July.
