Context always needed tbf. Not quite doomsday stuff yet.

"Prof Madhi said it was "unlikely" that the mutation in South Africa would make the current vaccines useless, but might "weaken the impact"."

"It's a theoretical concern. A reasonable concern… that the South African variant might be more resistant,"

They also said it would be really easy to modify the vaccines already approved to cope with it

BBC News at Ten report from Johannesburg reported that the South African variant may well one of neutralising antibody reactions. That wasn't actually what they said. I think their words were partially resistant. It's theorectical at this stage and yet to be confirmed.

And the vaccine makers have always been confident they can adapt the vaccine to it, so give them a chance. It may mean some people need a booster but the focus should be on killing its presence here in the next six weeks and keeping it out.

My heads gone west tonight. Worries about work as im self emp, worries about my little uns who have broke there heart tonight when told they dont see there pals again (only 8&5 my youngest 2, so they know its because of c19 but they dont really understand). Worries about my terminally ill mum.
I literally cannot foresee a time of relative normality in life.
