Haven’t seen it mentioned, so apologies if it has, but it states now quite clearly that the national booking site is open to people 50+, they’ve officially changed it.
Thanks for this, just booked my first jab for next Tuesday(i'm 52) at the Etihad

Him being able to resume some sort of normality in his life but selfish individuals like you want to put a spanner into the works because you know best.
I don't think you read the responses.

My comment was a direct response to him saying he would gladly stay at home and not go to public areas if vaccination proof was required to go to them. There is no normality in that.

Also, if you'd kindly explain how I'm selfish, and what spanner I want to put in the works I'd appreciate it, because I'm pretty sure all I've done is express concern at the precedent set by requiring proof of vaccine to effectively go out in public.

I've already stated I'm for the vaccine and will be getting it as soon as I'm able, and encourage everyone to do so.

As someone who has been shielding for over a year i'd be ecstatic. Even if i can't go out to think of all those selfless, intelligent people who took the vaccine for not just their benefit but also everyone else's being able to safely enjoy themselves would be a great boost.

why do you think that the vaccine is not a legal requirement?

This seems crazy to me.

You've been shielding for a year with the promise of what? You'd be happy to carry on shielding for the rest of your life?
Im immune suppressed so my jab may have not worked for me. I truly hope it does. After 2nd dose i will have a antibody test to see. If it works off i go, if not the more people that have the vaccine the better from my point of view. Irrespective of whether it works for me it makes sense that those who freely choose to put both themselves and others at risk by refusing the vaccine should be kept separate from those who are not muppets.

The fact that some people think those who choose to put others at risk when there is a vaccine available, who have no medical grounds to do so should be able to freely go round putting other in possible danger is astonishing. If it was Leprosy or Rabies we wouldn't even be having this conversation. There is no reason, NONE, to not have the vaccine bar medical exemption.

Don't trust the experts, believe conspiracy theories then fuck off i say.

There is no way that a change of this significance in the CFR is not down to vaccines right? Remarkable.

Yet again, I will be getting the vaccination and I encourage everyone to do so.

It seems we will never agree as you are a fan of big government that should be allowed to involve itself in all areas of an individuals life, as evidenced by your advocacy of forced segregation and by extension multi-tiered society.

Nobody has mentioned conspiracy theories so I'm not sure why you brought them up, and I agree with you that there is no good reason to remain unvaccinated.

Again, what concerns me is the kind of precedent that begin forced to prove certain things about you personally in order to engage in normal life may set. Why is that so hard to get? It's not about this example, it's not about covid, it's about what this may allow a government to do in future.

So let me get this straight, you want those who refuse to get a vaccine to a deadly disease to be able to freely mingle with those who have had the vaccine and those who have not yet had the opportunity plus those for whom the vaccine hasn't worked, potentially leading to deaths and severe illness for those people, when there is no reason for them not to have a vaccine that could negate those risks? Astonishingly idiotic.

Throw away your smart phone and your pc if you are worried about other things. We are in a pandemic ffs.

So again what you are saying is that because of your concerns about government you are willing to let those who choose to go unvaccinated for non medical reasons to mingle with those who don't potentially causing 1000s of deaths and serious illness? Nice.

Scotland data:

12 deaths - was 20 last week

625 cases - was 691 last week

3.0% positivity - was 3.1% last week

179 Greater Glasgow, 105 Lothian, 99 Lanarkshire

422 patients - down 18 on yesterday - was 582 last week

38 ventilated icu - down 4 on yesterday - was 50 last week

More good numbers where they really count now (hospitals and positivity - ie cases versus tests done) with no real sign yet of any impact from schools

Wales data:

8 deaths - was 6 last week

145 cases - was 225 last week

2.1% positivity - was 2.9% last week

Weekly Pop Score 43 - was 42 yesterday and last week

This has plateaued largely as it is very low now but cases have fallen day to day last 2 days so it may yet nudge down by the odd 1 or 2.
