Wales Vaccination update:

1, 742, 273 first doses given - 14, 818 today - was 15, 083 yesterday & 16, 983 last week

653, 537 second doses given - 17, 882 today - was 13, 142 yesterday & 14, 702 last week
Out of interest do any of the daily figures break down those who have had vaccinations and at what stage they are in that overall process if that is reflected?

Why would you want to go from Ayia Napa to Newquay for your hols?
Not to mention those of us that have family in other countries that we haven’t seen for well over a year now. International travel is not just about club 18-30 (not that I have a problem with that either).

Holidaying in the UK is just of no interest to lots of people, me included. I have a weekend booked in Blackpool in July and a weekend in the lakes booked in June but I’d have done those regarless. Life is aspiratonal and a UK staycation in the miserable rain paying over the odds for everything just isn’t a holiday for me personally - or anyone I know in fact but each to their own.

I think only via reports later every week or two like the one posted above which analyses the impact of vaccines.

Because doing that takes time to collate and assess and daily data is instant.

Zoe App does have some data on vaccine efficacy. But its really apples and oranges daily data and longer term assessment of that data as it builds two parts of the same story.

England hospital deaths 19 with 4 from the North West.

Last week it was 18.

However, only 14 of this weeks 19 will likely count as the others are 78 days or more old

Nonetheless there are signs we seem to have bottomed out and it is unlikely we are going easily into single figures routinely.

The last few weeks England hospital deaths on Friday:

74 /14 NW

43 / 8 NW

33 / 4 NW

18 / 3 NW

19 / 4 NW

The last few days this week:

34 / 2 NW

25 / 4 NW

22 / 2 NW

19 / 4 NW

England 19 deaths:

By region:- 7 London, 4 North West, 3 NE & Yorkshire, 3 South West, 1East, 1 Midlands , 0 South East

By trust :- 3 Imperial and 2 Homerton in London the only ones not single figures.

In NW one each in Bolton, East Lancashire. Pennine Acute and Stockport.

8 of the 19 were aged over 80 and 10 aged 60 - 79

Scottish data:

1 death - was 3 last week

255 cases - was 204 last week

1.5% positivity - was 1.4% last week

93 patients - same as yesterday - was 109 last week

12 ventilated icu - same as yesterday - was 18 last week

Northern Ireland data:

1 death - was 1 last week

88 cases - was 119 last week

3.8% positivity - was 5.1% last week

7 day rolling cases total 736 - was 763 yesterday and 824 last week

4 care home outbreaks - same as yesterday - was 4 last week.

64 patients - up 2 on yesterday - was 74 last week

3 ventilated - down 2 on yesterday - was 6 last week

This is the lowest number on ventilators in any UK country or England region in over 6 months.

Airlines are milking it mate, there is a video on BBC,a guy who flew in from India said that the airline offered him a seat at normal cost, but he would miss the deadline and would have isolate on arrival in England.
Or he could pay 3 times the normal cost and be here before the deadline.
We should keep an eye on this and tell the transit countries they wii go on the red list if it persists.
