Unfortunately the hospital situation is still going the wrong way in past 24 hours. Though not quite as bad today.

England hospital Patients up just 15 to 22, 728.

But ventilators up 45 to 1899. These are escalating at a worrying rate as the number keeping low was one of thw key reasons we expected the death numbers not to reach first wave levels.

They're not even closing everything in a Tier 4 area. A few London boroughs aren't on the list, notably Greenwich.

Is tier 4 meant to be as strict as the first national lockdown ?

I guess it isnt as supermarkets are allowed to sell everything from food to clothes and electronics etc.

This is unfair on other retailers and just forces more people into supermarkets, if other shops were open than people wouldnt over crowd supermarkets for clothes and irons etc ;). But I guess the supermarkets fund the tory party so the government keeps the other shops like premark, currys etc closed while the supermarket can sell everything.

Surely if the government only want people in tier 4 to only go out for food, medicine or work make supermarkets only sell food. It's not rocket science !

We are on the home straight - next month will be a bit scary but the second wave is peaking between now and next two weeks. The further lockdown measures should help and each day more vaccines mean we are closer to the end of this.

Ps - I am just on my walk and spoke to a copper who worked last night. Said they had to attend and break up endless house parties. Absolute wankers some people.

But in the first National lockdown those areas were blocked off I think. So the government give in to people who want to buy a pair of Jean's !

Not necessarily! Up until last this monday just gone I neither knew anyone who's had it or knew of anyone that knows someone that's had it! I'm 100% not defending these selfish pricks but I can see why, if they haven't been exposed to it, they might be less inclined to believe in it.
