Believe the app is advisory (and all over the place wrt who it pings)

a call from them however is mandatory

if it’s just the app and I was you i’d go and get a pack of 7 LFT’s from the chemist and do one every day and go about my life as normal unless i got a positive test

This is correct. The app notification is not legislated for and it is not a legal requirement to isolate.
It is perfectly reasonable to do the gove trial that Vicente suggests. If it was good enough for him, why not you.

11 all settings deaths - which means 9 from England.

14, 876 cases

Sadly NOT good news being so low - due to yet another lab processing error - in England this time.

Numbers will be way up tomorrow or whenever they finally sort this latest mess out.

No hurry with these things. Not like we are in a pandemic or anything happily.

This will make it hard to see sense in numbers just as it has been in Scotland as we have no idea how many cases ar missing, But it would look to me like several thousand.

Where does it mention the lab error in England? Nothing mentioned on https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

Scrub that question, seen it elsewhere

Aren't weekend results always a bit low? Fwiw anecdotal evidence feels like things are generally going wrong again - a few cases in local schools and quite a few colleagues (about 5 out of 100) getting pinged by the app in the last couple of weeks. By no means terrible but sort of feels like the position we were in last September when the schools went back.

By the way Andrew Marr on his show this morning revealed that despite being double jabbed some time ago he was off last week not for a break but because he had Covid.

He says he caught it when covering the global summit in Cornwall.

He also said it made him quite sick but he was not ill enough to go into hospital.

He got double jabbed early I assume due to his vulnerability after his stroke.

So this is kind of good news. Especially as he was well enough to return to work after just a few days.

Suggests again the vaccines work in doing what they are supposed to do - even if statistically that looks like a vaccine failure. It is not if it actually saved his life.
I’ll be reposting this thread quite often regarding those that are double vaccinated and how they will start to form a higher percentage (than at present) of those resting positive - it’s not bad news:

Thought it was interesting that Andy Marr reported his own condition on his programme this morning; he’d been double vaccinated but caught Covid, he believes when reporting the G7 in Cornwall, and its effects floored him last week, which in turn shattered his sense of having vaccine omnipotence.
Again, worth reading the entire thread:
