My test and trace app has told me I need to self isolate for 8 days. I literally haven’t been out of the house for weeks apart from Saturday and my missus who is out all the time, and was also with me the last time I did leave the house, hasn’t had the message on her app.

I live opposite a petrol station, the closest house to it, this has to be the GPS thinking I’ve been in contact with someone who has been in there surely?

Has this happened to anyone else?

The "test and trace" app can ask you to isolate, but I don't think it's compulsory to do so, I think NHS test and trace need to actually call you before you are legally obliged to do it.

Mind you if you don't go out ever, then isolating for 8 days isn't going to be an issue anyway.

it doesn’t use GPS. Uses blue tooth to detect nearby devices and can tell how far away you were and for how long.

main flaw is if you have neighbours who get it. It can sometimes pick up through walls etc.

Go into manage contact tracing and turn tracing off until you get round to leaving the house

It isn't about me personally though is it. The mask doesn't protect me. Wearing a mask is to protect others. So a shop assistant, etc has a right to be protected from you or anyone spreading covid while they are working. So what's the harm making that more likely by ,for now, making it compulsory. What harm is it doing, none. Is there a potential benefit, yes. So there is no reason to remove that just yet.
Not quite correct if the mask meets this standard, a game changer for some people with depleted auto immune systems.

BBC News - Why it's time to think differently about Covid
Back in Jan - 1 on 60 folks who who tested +ve died. Mainly the vulnerable.
Now it's 1 in 1000.
I will go further and say the biggest chunk of those didn't have both vaccinations when offered.
It will be interesting to see how the figures for deaths released at the end of June change over the next few weeks.
2% Unknown status
39% Unvaccinated
15% Single jabed
44% double jabed

Also, in the UK we also count "died of Covid" and "died with Covid" together. It will be interesting to see how these numbers stack up as well.
