France‘s proposed restrictions are far more sweeping. Travel on a domestic train, for example.

Yeah, but why not say this two weeks ago in preparation for the 19th? Why give it a month or so? A lot will just hit the clubs and get the jab when they really need it, say the last week in August.

You need both jabs + 2 weeks so they need to book 1st 1 in next 2 weeks , they have had every opportunity but didn't. As for night clubs kicking off they should have made it a requirement with out the government making it for them

But they can't do that as there is an 8 week gap between jabs so if you want to go to a nightclub at the end of September and you've not had a jab your first jab will have to be in the next 2 weeks then a 8 week wait for your second jab

Interestingly, some journalist (Fergus something from BBC) asked in the Q & A part of the press conference a question about this, but he did so in a pretty obnoxious way: "....are you effectively giving people an ultimatum, get vaccinated soon or you'll be denied entry to crowded venues?"

Obviously it is that, so what?

Journalists are really pissing me off right now, trying to make trouble all the time & not just on covid stories either. This was obviously his intention, you could tell from the sneering face, when he asked it.

2 jabs, eight weeks apart and another 2 got full benefits. Basically telling them they need to get in now to not face restrictions later, mate.

The demographic is that 75% of people who go to nightclubs are aged 18-30 and only 30% of that age group so far have had a jab

Maybe only 30% are double jabbed, but way more than that have had their first.



It seems like absolutely crazy policy to me: allow clubs to run normally when clientele are still waiting for jabs so still vulnerable, then impose restrictions when they're largely not?

Does anyone know what percentage of the population that actually is? What criteria are set?

Depends if you call someone at risk of blood clots from an underlying condition being the same as someone who thinks little green men from zeta reticuli have engineered this dangerous vaccine to invade Earth by stealth.

One is a genuine reason which merits exemption. The other a view to which anyone is entitled but merits consequences if it dictates behavior and puts other people at risk.

I fully defend their right to believe what they choose. But there needs to be consequences when that belief put others at risk. Staying away from nightclubs for a few months is nothing compared to what some nations would do.

It has to be offset against months more for people whose livelihood will be destroyed if we do not get this over ASAP.
