I read somewhere that most pandemics take 2 years to get sorted out, with this one I'm not sure that will be right.
Personally I think were heading for an Oct / Nov lockdown of some sort or re implementation of some restrictions.
The way the cases are and seeing people's behaviours etc and the schools going back I can only see it going 1 way.
The daily figures we keep reeling off are mind boggling.
Spanish flu was a 3 year cycle. But from doing some reading on it there seems to be a lot of moving parts here to know for sure as we cannot really compare to historical pandemics.
Spanish flu for example had a lot less people to infect, but also had far far slower travel in the grand scheme of things ( less international travel etc ).
This pandemic has spread globally quickly, but has been slowed down a lot by our measures. and lots of countries are still quite early on it is so there is a way to go yet.
From a UK perspective. we're doing OK to be honest. the infection rates are high granted but the hospitalisations are not bad, manageable at the moment and deaths are low in comparisson to what they were.
if you want a silver lining way to think about these high cases, Every new case that is hitting someone who is vaccinated. is just making there immunity stronger. A mate of mine has just got it, double vaxxed and has what he classes as a bad cold. but now he not only has his vaxx protection, he has natural immunity ontop of that. its like an ultimate booster
