Not that I WANT to get into this part of the debate, but there is very good evidence to suggest natural immunity is better than a created vaccination. Between 7 and 9 times more effective.

So, with a fair few players not wanting a vaccine, it looks like they'd rather get Covid and let their body fight it off, over chemicals in their bodies. But, this are athletes.

You would have to ask if Southgate has demanded a 'jab or don't play' policy (I don't know as I haven't followed national football in years) with an eye on that scuppering progress under his tenure.
And what exactly does chemicals mean, in this context?

ENGLAND ADMISSIONS

ADMISSIONS (DATA HERE IS ALWAYS 48 HOURS BEHIND - REMEMBER - SO THIS IS SUNDAY)

Last Week VERSUS This Week SUNDAY

TOTAL 577 V 606

LONDON 57 V 58

MIDLANDS 130 V 116

NE & YORKSHIRE 141 V 130

AND

NORTH WEST 97 V 85

You can see patient admissions are a bit up week to week but not really because of the four main regions. They are down or in London's case very low and up just 1.

YOU WILL SEE IN THE PATIENT NUMBERS BELOW WHO DID DRIVE THE INCREASE

ENGLAND HOSPITAL IN PATIENTS UPDATE

THESE ARE FOR TODAY

YESTERDAY PATIENTS WERE 5206 - TODAY 5213

That is UP by 7. Last week the daily rise was 97 (4909 - 5006)

LAST WEEK THE WEEK TO WEEK PATIENT NUMBERS TUE - TUE WERE - 5126 - 5006 A WEEKLY FALL OF 120

THIS WEEK IT WAS 5006 - 5213 A WEEKLY RISE OF 207

A PRETTY SIGNIFICANT TURNAROUND IN LAST TWO DAYS BUT THE RISE IS WELL DOWN ON YESTERDAY

THE REGIONS BELOW WILL SHOW WHERE THE CASES ARE COMING FROM:-

YESTERDAY - TODAY (UP/DOWN BY) V LAST WEEK

LONDON 894 - 853 (DOWN 41) V 925 DOWN Wk to Wk 72 was DOWN 76 wk before

MIDLANDS 1073 - 1086 (UP 13) V 1029 UP Wk to Wk 57 was UP 17 wk before

NE & YORKSHIRE 1169 - 1166 (DOWN 3) UP Wk to Wk 73 was UP 6 wk before

NORTH WEST 808 - 757 (DOWN 51) DOWN Wk to Wk 57 was DOWN 44 wk before

As you can see only London and NW had very good days falling quite a bit between them but Midlands & NE & Yorks are still clearly the main problems in the hospital numbers in the big regions and well up week to week.

BUT THAT IS NOT THE FULL STORY

The other smaller regions YESTERDAY -TODAY:-

East UP 32 to 440 - which is UP 73 week to week

South East UP by 48 to 462 - which is UP 22 week to week

South West UP by 9 to 449 - - which is UP 111 week to week

SW is REALLY struggling as the highest and fastest rising of the smaller southern regions.

BUT these southern regions are all well up and the main reason patients did not FALL in England today

ENGLAND HOSPITAL UPDATE - VENTILATORS TODAY

YESYERDAY V TODAY

621 V 657

So a RISE of 36 TODAY

LAST WEEK THE EQUIVALENT NUMBERS WERE:-

632 V 661

A RISE of 29

NOT GOOD NEWS BUT INCREASES ON TUESDAY ARE NOT UNUSUAL AS YOU SEE

.

WEEK TO WEEK VENTILATORS FELL FROM 661 TO 657 A FALL OF 4

LAST WEEK THE WEEK TO WEEK FALL WAS FROM 681 TO 661 A FALL OF 20

The previous week's fall was 84 - so the fall is slowing down VERY noticeably

YESTERDAY - TODAY V LAST WEEK

LONDON 139 - 146 (UP 7) V 175 DOWN Wk to Wk 36 - was down 2 last wk

MIDLANDS 127 - 129 (UP 2) DOWN Wk to Wk 8 - was down 2 last wk

NE & YORKSHIRE 121 - 123 (UP 2) DOWN Wk to Wk 3 - was down 9 last wk

NORTH WEST 93 - 95 (UP 2) UP Wk to Wk 7 - was UP1 last wk

As you can see North West STILL having problems and ventilators have risen 23 (a third) from 10 days ago. Hence very likely the recent high death numbers in the region.

The other smaller regions over the weekend (YESTERDAY - TODAY) Wk to Wk :-

East UP 5 to 58 - UP 9 wk to wk

South East UP 13 to 52 - UP 7 wk to wk

South West UP 4 to 53 - UP 12 wk to wk

JUST AS WITH THE PATIENTS - VENTILATOR RISES DAY TO DAY AND WEEK TO WEEK ARE COMING FROM THE FAST RISING CASES IN THE SMALLER SOUTHERN REGIONS TOO

UK HOSPITAL NUMBERS:

HEADLINE:- UK PATIENTS BACK OVER 7000 FOR FIRST TIME IN A WEEK OR TWO.

How long did symptoms last for?
started with sore throat Friday diagnosed Saturday with Covid
since I have had the following symptoms
Blocked Nose/runny Nose
coughing up mucus
Muscle aches
Sweating
shivering
loss of taste and smell

I don't seem to be coughing as much shit up now and the muscle aches along with sweating and shivering seem to have gone but the symptom doing my head in the most is the no smell or taste

ENGLAND REGIONS

EAST FALLS BY 219 - TO 3878 V 3229 - UP 649 IN WEEK - NOW WELL BELOW THE NORTH WEST

LONDON FALLS BY 302 - TO 2748 V 3135 DOWN 387 IN WEEK

SOUTH EAST FALLS BY 376 TO 4996 V 4647 - UP 349 IN PAST WEEK AND NOW 62 BEHIND THE NW

SOUTH WEST FALLS BY 352 TO 2819 V 2170 UP 649 IN WEEK

BETTER DAYS FOR THE SOUTHERN REGIONS - AS THEY USED TO SAY IN THE WAR - THE NORTH COPPED IT TODAY

EAST MIDLANDS UP BY 103 - TO 3497 V 3144 UP 353 IN WEEK

WEST MIDLANDS UP BY 586 - TO 3958 V 3103 UP 855 IN WEEK - BACK TO BUSINESS AS USUAL SADLY

NORTH EAST UP BY 610 - TO 1914 V 1401 - UP 513 IN WEEK - PRETTY BIG RISE HERE HIGHEST SCORE IN SOME TIME

YORKSHIRE FALLS BY 237 TO 3458 V 2989 - UP 469 IN WEEK

AND

NORTH WEST UP BY 1060 TO 5058 V 4061 - UP 997 IN WEEK

THIS IS THE WORST DAY IN THE NORTH WEST IN SOME TIME WITH HUGE RISES IN BOTH MEASURES

GM AS A PERCENTAGE OF NORTH WEST CASES

TODAY 36.1% SLIGHTLY UP ON YESTERDAY WHEN IT WAS 35.4%

BUT ALMOST IDENTICAL WEEK TO WEEK FROM 36.0%

SO AN OK DAY IN GREATER MANCHESTER V NORTH WEST BUT NOT A GOOD DAY NUMBERS WISE FOR BOTH

GREATER MANCHESTER SCOREBOARD

TOTAL CASES 1827 - UP 412 FROM YESTERDAY

NORTH WEST UP 1060 TO 5058 - SLIGHTLY OVER PAR AS SHARE OF NW FALL

VERSUS LAST WEEK GM WAS THEN 1463 - SO UP 364

NORTH WEST RISES BY 997 WEEK TO WEEK.

THE WEEK TO WEEK GM RISE IS A LITTLE UNDER PAR HERE TOO WHICH IS OK NEWS WITH A RISE

ANOTHER OK DAY TODAY BUT LESS GOOD FOR THE REGION GIVEN THE HIGH NUMBERS ALL ROUND

STOCKPORT 293 - UP 92 on day & UP 79 wk to wk. Worst day in a while here with some pretty awful rises after a run of increasingly better days. Another step back after looking to be on right track. Pop Score way up on 100 and Trafford ony just failed to capitalise by being 2 higher. So losing just that 2 to Stockport but on the current trajectory Trafford will soon be chomping at the giant 220 lead Stockport now has built. Easily the boroughs worst day in GM after a good run.We saw how fast they went from over 100 behind a week ago so it can reverse just as easily now Trafford is more stable and Stockport wobbling. POP SCORE 14, 446

MANCHESTER 264 - UP 57 on day & UP 52 wk to wk. Pop Score up 48 . Highest in some time here. Not a good day as the numbers show but not as bad as Stockport Still Manchester is climbing now more than we would like.. POP SCORE 16, 457

TRAFFORD 243 - UP 36 on day & DOWN 17 Wk to wk - More progress from yesterday week to week. Pop score rise of '102 is the highest today. So Stockport still gained 2 v Trafford on overall Pop Score. But Trafford had the better day of the two no question. . POP SCORE 14, 666

WIGAN 198 - UP 30 on day & UP 54 wk to wk. Big rises here too, Pop score up 60. POP SCORE 15, 885

TAMESIDE 174 - UP 51 on day & UP 85 wk to wk. Pop Score of 76 up quite a bit on late. POP SCORE 15, 602

ROCHDALE 167 - UP 52 on day & UP 50 wk to wk. Pop Score up 75 . Big numbers here. POP SCORE 16, 088

SALFORD 145 - UP 43 on day & UP 8 wk to wk. Climbing again.Pop Score up 56. POP SCORE 16, 464

OLDHAM 123 - UP 19 on day & UP 9 Wk to Wk. Pop Score up 52. Lead over Manchester for highest Pop Score across the pandemic is 363 - not looking likely to stop rising either before it becomes the first GM borough into the 17 K club later this week. POP SCORE 16, 820

BURY 112 - UP 39 on day & UP 44 wk to wk. Pop score here up 59 POP SCORE 15, 558

BOLTON 108 - DOWN 7 on day & UP 8 wk to wk - Pop Score up 38. Bolton easily bag lowest Pop score of the day but these 'low' numbers are ceeping up, POP SCORE 15, 761

GM boroughs weekly past 7 day case totals:

Bury 706, Bolton 785, Oldham 846, Rochdale 858, Salford 912, Tameside 1160, Wigan 1320, Manchester 1562, Stockport 1760, Trafford 1935

Pretty much everyone up and Bury now over 700 and Bolton capitalised on having the best numbers in GM today climbing to second.

Stockport LOST ground to Trafford and Manchester today so easily the worst day. But is now just 175 behind Trafford. Big turnabout in one day.

Manchester's gap behind Stockport also rises to 198.

Trafford very close to 2000 but has now started to fall slowly.

GM WEEKLY POP SCORES

Remember low scores good - going down good - high scores bad - going up bad

BOROUGH // POP SCORE TODAY // POP SCORE LAST WEEK // UP OR DOWN BY LAST 7 DAYS

Also WAS 4 weeks ago (up/down in past month)

BOLTON 273 // 254 // UP 19 WAS 265 (UP 8)

MANCHESTER 282 // 237 //UP 45 WAS 268 (UP 14)

SALFORD 348 // 324 // UP 24 WAS 294 (UP 54)

OLDHAM 357 // 309 // UP 48 WAS 332 (UP 25)

BURY 370 // 285 // UP 85 WAS 280 (UP 90)

ROCHDALE 384 // 242 // UP 142 WAS 283 (UP 62)

WIGAN 400 // 319 // UP 81 WAS 326 (UP 74)

TAMESIDE 511 // 469 UP 42 WAS 382 (UP 129)

STOCKPORT 599 // 538 // UP 61 WAS 373 (UP 226)

TRAFFORD 815 // 635 // UP 180 WAS 299 (UP 516)

Trafford has forged an astounding lead but it FELL again today and Stockport went UP and very nearly entered the 600s which would be another unwanted thing Stockport has never done before in the pandemic they have achieved in the last two or three weeks. The gap to Trafford falls again to 216.

Tameside up today back into the 500s but widening its gap on Stockport.

Wigan also JUST made it into the 400s after a run of rising numbers.

Only Manchester and Bolton now under 300. And that might not last the week at current rates. And Bolton back to a clear lead.

Indeed EVERYONE is up BOTH week to week and month to month for the first time I can ever recall in GM.

The top to bottom spread fell again to 'just' 542. BUt it looks like it will be coming down faster now from both directions.
