Quite. Let the virus rip and it kills more so than 1918 flu. Only modern medicine keeps the death rate lower and if there are no beds then most of those who need hospitalisation die. Assuming 75% (low estimate) then back in January that would have been nearly 3k a day in the UK. A whole average flu season in 3.5 days.Makes you wonder why pretty much every government across the planet - not just ours - has treated this as a real threat then. Perhaps we should’ve adopted the “don’t give a fuck” attitude of the Brazilian government eh? Only the 3400 or so Covid deaths there yesterday, and ICU capacity at or near 100% capacity across the whole country.
