How’s everyone who’s had COVID19 doing recently?
Can’t quite recall all the names but aware of @ayrshire_blue & @tolmie's hairdoo - how are you doing?

It’s around 3 weeks this weekend since I had the first symptoms & although I’m on the mend quite considerably now, I’m still chesty (not like that fellas....), unable to consider long walks (certainly nowhere near running fit), but breathless and ‘mind energy’ pretty low.

Do you think if I take precautions I’d be good to head to a supermarket (given it’s three weeks since my first symptoms but not everything being equal...).
Cant keep relying on other’s to bring supplies (my ex essentially).

I’m back in work btw - helped with my focus (its remote working & I ducked out of most meetings - I look a wreck so off cam/mic for the few meetings I attended).

I'm getting there mate, thanks. Was back at work this week. Generally feel ok but there are occasions I'm a bit short of breath. This might be to do with lack of any physical exercise combined with eating garbage and general state of unfitness since I've not been able to exercise and am cautious about getting back into it too fast. I hope it's that. My intention is next weekend to do a slow paced treadmill jog for a mile or so and see how my body responds, and build up from there. The most I'm doing just now is going out the odd walk here and there, so I've not really tested myself it that makes sense.

Keep taking it easy mate. My experience certainly isn't the same for everyone, perhaps it'll take you a little while longer but there's nothing wrong with that. I'd suggest to do what you feel that you can without pushing yourself too hard. A couple of bits and bobs from the supermarket will be easier than a trolley load of stuff for example. Hopefully the chestyness you're experience will ease in time. You've made good progress from how you were by the sounds of things, so that's really positive. Glad to hear you're on the mend even if you're not fully recovered as yet, you'll get there.

First official covid death confirmed as jan 30th 2020, two months earlier than first thought. Covid was clearly here earlier.

Old fashioned menthol crystals in a bowl of boiled water have helped me a lot (towel over head and deep breaths)

I’ve been on beta blockers for a long time and can’t have some of the cold/flu medicines due to the decongestants in them.

Always been advised by every doctor and pharmacist that menthol crystals are the better way to go anyway - them and just standard paracetamol.

Don't think the truth will ever really be known. Partly because China were so shady about it in 2019, and ineptitude elsewhere rather than any conspiracy. The big UK airports like many in Europe are as much hubs as destinations and it's likely covid was here pretty quick I think. Probably another reason NZ / Oz seem to fair better - many more people going there rather than just passing through.

around Feb of 2020 many people were claiming the symptoms from back in Nov/Dec 2019, many posters on here were to but they got laughed at and ridiculed by certain posters on here, as time progreses the picture becomes more clear

That 30 Jan death was spotted months ago. And redefined then. Not recently It was ascribed to pneumonia as I recall at the time. Not surprising they would miss it that early. Much the same happened in China where they had cases a few weeks before they recognised what was happening that were obvious in retrospect.

We keep getting the occasional death from as far back as March redefined and added to the England hospital data even now. There have been two or three since new year.

The true extent of cases before we officially declared an outbreak will never be known. There will have been some. But not many. Why? Because this is a highly infectious virus and it could not have been happening for long in any country with a lot of people coming into contact before its existence was obvious as something new due to the rapidity of spread. Especially in Winter.

We were quite lucky it was NOT prevalent in January last year as the death rate would be much higher from the first wave if it was because it started here as we were ending winter and entering Spring which tipped the balance in our favour to be able to control it and stopped the NHS being utterly overwhelmed as those countries that got it first (Italy for exanple) were.

could it not have been around say 12 months before that Jan death in a weaker form and passed off as maybe flu deaths, the death count would have been that small it probably wouldnt have raised an eybrow then mutated to the more severe varient we know today
