Apologies - forgot the poster’s mane but wondering how those who had covid complications way after having it (long covid?) then felt better after the vaccine are feeling now? Was it a permanent pick up?

I’ve actually had a couple of missed calls from mobiles over the last day or two (and one from the dermatologist dept which I called back).
Wondering if they may have been for the vaccine (I get offered the flu vaccine due to asthma)...but via mobile?

Posted in here a couple of days ago about reports that doctors were getting many calls that Long Covid symptoms were disappearing after the vaccine. You are not alone it seems.

Yeah mate it was me, defo felt improvement within 8 hours, massive improvement which initially was shocking at first, gradually the initial improvement became normality and now feel as I would pre covid. The only way I can describe it was like having a headache which goes after pills.

This is the problem i have with this Vaccine.

I am not anti-vaccination, in fact i am all for them if they are safe.

I am not convinced they are safe though.

It is alright saying ,don't blow it out of proportion. That highly likely you will be okay.

What if i am an unlucky fucker and i am not ?

I suffer from all sorts of allergies, I already have a compromised immune system from having Glandular Fever, as well as a couple of patches of Psoriasis.

I have legitimate concerns the vaccination might kill me.

This is why i am waiting out for a while yet.

Not because i am being a selfish fucker .I am waiting it out to see how people with my sort of conditions do over the next few months.

Seems like common sense to me.

point 1.
Talk to your GP and they will be able to give you some information based on your situation so you can make an informed decision. and if they feel you are at risk of an allergic reaction they will send you to the hospital for the shot ( they did for my Mum who had a bad reaction to the flu jab years ago ) where they monitor you for 15/20 mins after administering as thats the window of time that the anaphylactic shock would take to kick in. the 15 min monitoring happens at all vaccination centres but sending to the hospital is an extra layer of protection as your in the best place to have that sort of reaction.

Point 2.
Lets play the odds game

Covid = 1 in 100 chance of killing you, this will go on for the rest of your life with the odds increasing every day as Covid isn't going away. this is probably higher for you being immune compromised.

Covid vaccine = currently 1 death* attributed to it in 334 million shots administered. Once vaccinated your safe from Covid ( baring any mutations etc etc )

* 1 known death has occurred due to a Covid vaccines which looks like its down to a manufacturing flaw and the batch has been recalled, people will say this is proof that vaccines are unsafe but it could be applied to everything in life as manufacturing issues occure all the time. 30 people a year in the US die from food poisoning from eggs for example. but people dont say eggs kill you.

Even if you go by the Meme's on facebook which take deaths after the vaccines has been administered. your looking at about 0.03%. and when you take into consideration that the vast majority of the early shots were administered to the elderly and sick 0.03% is about the figure you would expect to have died in the same time period. even if you take 0.03% at face value its 1 in 3000.

4 months in, 330+ million shots administered. the vast majority of people who have had it have been old and infirm. your not going to get a bigger test pool than that to prove that health issues wont be a factor.

Great news mate and I bet it comes as a relief.
I'm hoping for the same results (not guaranteed of course) when I get mine.
It's an odd feeling from someone who runs every other day (pre Covid), often a 15k each week, to struggling walking up a couple of flights of stairs.

Wonderful post mate.

we can't afford dodgy batches and undermining vaccine confidence. If true (if true!) AZ needs to buck their ideas up. No mistakes.

Totally agree! If it does turn out to be a manufacturing issue then it will be interesting to see if this is actually down to the EU pressuring them to speed up production lines up to speed quicker.

There is, as yet, no evidence whatever of any problem with a batch. All action taken has been precautionary.

It was always expected that with 100s of millions of doses there would be coincidental events.

Await the investigation.

Most of the reports I was reading about it yesterday emphasised "1 batch" with a few mentioning it had been recalled.

"The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is also reviewing the relationship between the AstraZeneca/Oxford Covid-19 vaccine and blood clots, after Austria and six other EU countries suspended the use of a certain batch of AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine, known as batch ABV5300, after blood clot concerns."

Although I cant find one mentioning recall now. to many articles doing the rounds. If there was a concern about the vaccine its self they would have stopped all batches rather than just the one batch. they are certainly working on the assuption the 1 batch has an issue rather than the vaccine.

So tired of the conspiracy nonsense. Finally talked my mum into having a job on Sunday, despite her shitting it cos of hearing shite from my brother and auntie, and now obviously this blood clot stuff comes out and she's now scared of the AZ one, which ironically is the one she 'wanted' first cos she'd heard loads of scary stuff about the mRNA stuff. Sigh. She'll still likely go and get it done, but fuck me the damage these people have done.

on the plus side their might be a domino effect - must be harder for your brother to keep up the conspiracy nut stuff when he sees your parents get vaccinated and be fine.

Yes, but this is purely precautionary, not driven by anything other than the noted adverse events.

There is no evidence whatever there is actually any issue with the batch.

Await Poirot!

Sure I seen an article this morning that 10 million patients in Canada were studied with regards to the blood clots with the AZ vaccine and the conclusions were that there's absolutely no evidence to suggest it causes such things to occur. My details on that might be sketchy, but the very fact that I cannot even find that article again to confirm what i think i have read only serves to highlight how ridiculous the media have became with this stuff. If I wanted to find an article which suggested that AZ might be problematic, I could find it no bother. That is dangerous if not a downright disgrace at this stage.

Yeah of course. My dad's had his Pfizer one 2 and a half weeks ago and is totally fine. They've just not told him as it's not worth the hassle. Thing is, my brother wasn't even anti-vax until this. He happily had a tetanus shot when we went to Dominican republic with our parents 15 years ago for example. He's just anti-anything the government pushes. He likes to find someone or something to blame. Same with most of these kind of people. I know for a fact he'll shrug and move onto something new when its all over.
