Negative result thank god but there must a bug going round because I still feel shitty

Due to travel I’ve had 3 negative PCR tests in the last 10 days but I feel like shit. Banging head and lethargic. I’m not alone either with the wife the same and a few in work like me.

Apparently it took 2 years for the Spanish flu that killed berween 25m and 50m of the World’s population to die out. Several waves, then became “normal”flu from around 1920.

In a letter to the Man City program in March of 1919 Healdplace’s Grandma stated Tameside was the the worst hit followed by Bury, Oldham, Trafford and Salford.

The mrs has been sick too but not as bad as me. Definitely some bugs going round.

I'm not into wives tales but it could be the weather, this storm over the last week has brought crazy low pressure which can cause some people bother. I've felt the same over the last couple of days but lateral flows are negative and no other symptoms.

Sorry, I didn't realise all the smoker and drinkers are going to cause the NHS to crash within a month or two.

People complaining about these latest restrictions ought to realise that they’re nowhere near as bad as what some other European countries have implemented. There are lockdowns in Austria and parts of Germany currently, plus they’ve made vaccinations mandatory. Also, remember that most of those restrictions were brought in before Omicron even became a thing, whereas ours have come about due to Omicron.

Whilst the above does put a huge strain on the NHS, it's something they can predict and cater for - chuck in a virus that requires ICU bed/up to 6 nurses on top then it's potential carnage

Let’s see shall we? Nearly 600 deaths in Germany yesterday and that’s with some regional lockdowns, and without Omicron getting a foothold. We haven’t had a single day since opening up in July where death figures were anywhere near that high. And with 20-odd million boosters administered already, I think we might be in with a chance of dodging a bullet, whereas a lot of Central Europe might struggle.
