Coronavirus (2022) thread

Public confidence is a massive thing.

I've mentioned it before but I work in the live music and events sector - so we've been pretty much the worst hit industry throughout this.

Even with effectively little/no restrictions applying now and tours happening again, ticket sales are still way down across the board, and we're experiencing a trend towards customers buying very late (which makes sales forecasting extremely risky) and a lot of no-shows, which impacts venue bar sales etc.

There's not much the government can do about this and personally I just think it's a waiting game as everyone is a different stages of confidence/nervousness/mental health recovery.
I agree with you about public confidence. I heard quite a few companies were cancelling Christmas likings too. I’ve got a mate who does corporate catering and he had party bookings cancelled from utility companies who didn’t want to risk too many staff catching the virus at the same time.

I hope the businesses that have been hit by the pandemic can bounce.

Wanna start running as I've become increasingly lazy...only had covid at Xmas though. Is it safe to start now or is there a recommended time to wait for health reasons?
Come and join us in the Running thread. You will find lots of tips from our expert runners, and encouragement and motivation from new and experienced runners. The guys in there are the reason I entered and completed my first marathon last year.

What is the % chance a person in peak condition with no underlying health conditions, will die,or even become severely ill, from catching Covid?
I could give you hundreds from google and bing , body builders , athletes , fit through diet and exercise but i will just give you the one , can you also answer my questions from yesterday

I go to a lot (3 a month) of smaller gigs, Band on the Wall, Gorilla, Gullivers type venues. Manchesters's gigs are, with City and the pubs, the reason I finally retired up north from Cambridge last year.

But I've found it really tough getting back into the swing of it, not picking up the gig listings magazines from Piccadilly Records, not following as much on Twitter etc. Not because I'm worried about Covid, just because you get out of the routine.

My booster jab was injected on the 22nd of November and I read somewhere it's life expectancy was just 3 months.
Is this still the case and we do not need any more or should I worry (as an older person) that a second ie 4th injection booster should appear?

You are fine , a fourth is muted for very few people in need as they are severley sick

I've got it for the 2nd time - it's almost exactly 12 months since the 1st time.

So far I've been lucky and relatively symptom free. Same as last time.

Whereas my manager who's 37 has been off for 5 days and sounds really ill with it.
