Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I don't think so, Scottish Govt are treating the lockdown different to us so SPL can still use the extenuating grounds argument. I think they are well within their rights to do so, whereas in England we have began to lift lockdowns and govt advice is different to our own professional sports events. At this point if they say no, i think UEFA will treat us differently to the Scots.
Not much money sloshing around in Scotland though is there.

You watch the about turn by the premier league, in a heartbeat the season will end and this happening in Scotland will push it.

You’re on to a ratings winner there.

Don’t think there’ll be a vaccine though, history suggests that despite the unprecedented effort the science world is putting in now vaccines are very hard to come by

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome onto the stage Matt Hancock and Susan Boyle for a rendition of the 'Wash Your Hands and Sneeze into Your Elbow" song! right before Matt vaccinates his children on live TV!

There are no assurances for anyone until a vaccine arrives. Evidence shows there is a low risk of spreading it in schools. Long term evidence shows that kids from poor backgrounds suffer disproportionately from not being at school - their learning, their nutrition, their physical wellbeing can all be badly affected.

The deaths you refer to in your last paragraph (which I take with a pinch of salt - if they aren’t being attributed to it, I trust the results of the autopsy rather than your skewed interpretation) are a minuscule percentage of an already tiny percentage of children who get seriously ill from the virus.
one child is one too many, if your child died where would you sprinkle the salt ?

Can we take the chat about schools to the appropriate thread please, and leave this one for the discussion of football returning, thanks.
