Sorry, I'm sure many others are in the same boat though. For a City fan that does come across as smart arse or shall we say un empathetic!

I reckon at least 40%/50% are in the same boat, the working at home thing is massive saving transport and childcare costs. For a City fan that does come across as smart arse or shall we say un empathetic!, ask the chauffeur about the record petrol pump speeds or anyone with young kids re most cost matters . Our local curry house owner the true barometer is worried pre winter .
I never thought of that, if 20%+ of footy fans are now homeworkers no wonder the younger element jump on the pitch at the drop of a hat before having to go home to their place of work.I reckon at least 40%/50% are in the same boat, the working at home thing is massive saving transport and childcare costs.
Then again I know south east based fans who barely go now due to extortionate train prices, but their tickets always get used.
As someone who is and will continually be effected by this crisis I still don't think you can accuse a city fan not struggling of anything tbh, one thing about citys fanbase is it has some relativelty financially comfortable people follow us, as does this site, though here is only a small snapshot of match goers, for every person strugling atm there will be someone who isn't.For a City fan that does come across as smart arse or shall we say un empathetic!, ask the chauffeur about the record petrol pump speeds or anyone with young kids re most cost matters . Congratulations.Without wanting to sound like a smart arse, I'm not having a "cost of living" problem personally.
Think I read somewhere a couple of years back that top flight football admission prices had outdone the regular inflation rate by something breathtakingly insane, even compared to cinema or even concert tickets, which are suddenly topicalMy sense is that this current/coming cost of living crisis is probably the worst squeeze on disposable income since football became relatively expensive. It'll be interesting to see what the real foc's on here think, but thinking back to late 70s/80's hard times going to a top division match was a lot more affordable (relatively). Mind you, that might be because my dad was paying:-)
Bit heartless this mate. My M and S food bill today was 20 quid higher. Its hitting everyone.Without wanting to sound like a smart arse, I'm not having a "cost of living" problem personally.
Agree with this. Whilst inflation affects everyone, it disproportionately affects those on low to middle incomes and in particular those with younger families. As someone who is and will continually be effected by this crisis I still don't think you can accuse a city fan not struggling of anything tbh, one thing about citys fanbase is it has some relativelty financially comfortable people follow us, as does this site, though here is only a small snapshot of match goers, for every person strugling atm there will be someone who isn't.
Saying that I know people who fit into the comfortably ok to deal with the cost of living crisis who are reducing down to one cup scheme only as it is an extra expense or giving up aways and just attending SC games.
It pisses me off to think, that 2 students will be sat in our seats in the champs league group stages, having got their ticket cheaper than what i would have paid on the scheme, which i wont be joining this year. I do fear that the club may see this as an opportunity to fill the stands with more full priced day trippers.
