RE trains the cheaper prices are there if you know where to look. I got Euston - Piccadilly - Euston for £26 all in for the forest game. Appreciate this takes a lot of planning but there's lots of tips* on here to find alternative to Avanti extortionate pricing as their advance discounts seem to be scarce & generally inconvenient where they do exist.I reckon at least 40%/50% are in the same boat, the working at home thing is massive saving transport and childcare costs.
Then again I know south east based fans who barely go now due to extortionate train prices, but their tickets always get used.
Part of my match day experience is drinking shit beer at the ground with my mates and the price of a pint is similar in town tbh.Never understood why anyone buys the crap beer & food in the stadium or at city Square .

Noticed a massive hike in short haul flights across Europe now compared to even the start of this year.Cheap flights at short notice are pretty much a thing of the past, especially when everyone is piling on flights. So it’s going to be costly nightmare going to an away CL matches this season. I’ll try and get to at least 1 away group stage game in the CL, but that will probably be about it until the knockout stages.

With the CL group stage draw on the 25th August and GW1 starting w/c 6th September it leaves very little time to sort travel arrangements with many probably being priced out of it.
tbh the more people boycott when these greedy companies do this the more likely they will stop it.
Correct and I fully agree with you although it's all about supply and demand. They know people are desperate to get away this year after the covid period and probably know they can get away with these prices as people will pay it.
Add in the rise of fuel cost & it probably explains the spike.
Even Ryanair aren't that cheap these days.
It is dreadful! I used to get from Blackley to Maine Road, proggy and in (uncovered North Stand, though, and it was standing then) and change out of two bob! That's 10p in this new-fangled money. The proggy alone last season was £3-50! Wouldn't be surprised to find it's £4 this season. I suppose there'll be an extra page for the additional 50p!The cost of living is frightening. A couple of months ago I was paying 45p for a loaf of bread in Aldi. It's now 65p and everything has similarly risen in price. If you buy 20 items a week ( a conservative estimate) at 20p extra per item, then that's £4 a week and £20 a month. As my money isn't increasing it starts to become very worrying.
