Cost of living impact on football

As someone who is and will continually be effected by this crisis I still don't think you can accuse a city fan not struggling of anything tbh, one thing about citys fanbase is it has some relativelty financially comfortable people follow us, as does this site, though here is only a small snapshot of match goers, for every person strugling atm there will be someone who isn't.

Saying that I know people who fit into the comfortably ok to deal with the cost of living crisis who are reducing down to one cup scheme only as it is an extra expense or giving up aways and just attending SC games.
I would stay off the politics sub threads if I were you.
If you happen to mention your not in dire straits there will be plenty on there happy to call you a smug bastard as every one else in the Country is queuing up at the local food bank.

Definitely feeling the pinch financially. As a Citizen member, I usually buy home tickets well in advance for the games I want to go to, I can't afford to do this, w this season.

The Community Shield game, I've bought my kid's tickets and not for myself. I've told them I'll buy their tickets this year, but I can't afford to go often this year.

Can't you alternate? At least you get to go to a few more games.

I've got no season ticket, if I buy a membership for a family of 4, the likelihood is we can't sit together in family stand and have to fork out over £100 in just memberships. That irks me more than any individual ticket prices or season ticket cost. Expensive paid Memberships should not exist for people with a Manchester post code.

Yes same for me. 6d to Maine Road, 2/6d in the scoreboard end, then jump over the wall into the Kippax, saving me 6d at the transfer gate.
That's where the airlines got the idea of charging for a flight, extra for a choice of seat, extra for bags, surcharge for guaranteeing yer bag in the cabin.

It only seems like yesterday I was getting the 76 from Piccadilly!
I bet you were stood waiting for it for ages.
As far as I remember,it always went from Aytoun Street, more or less opposite The Grand Hotel.
We had a big punch up with some rag bastards in the early 70s, and I always remember a red snooker ball being thrown at the rags, and it missed them and bounced off the stone wall of The Grand and then carried on down Aytoun Street.

Or without a Manchester postcode.

i sympathise with families most, two children wanting to see PL footy with mum & dad. Costs far to much, on top of that you try telling the kids not to have a burger and wait til you get home for some food.

A lad or lass going on there own can drive or transport there cheap as possible and rather than troffing on the beer and shit food, just eat before you go and dont bother with a drink. I do this most games so the price of going is no more than my season card.

perhaps fans will get the full 90 mins of the game in this season !

The best tale you hear being "by the time ive paid 50 quid for my ticket, got the train there & back, had a few drinks with my mates before the game, had pie & chips at the stadium, got some sniff then gone in to town after ive spent 350 quid. Spread that out over 19 games its £6.650 ! "

I do think there will be an impact on attendances though with the recession the government says we are not going through. Something has to go when you havent got the money.
