Costel Pantilimon on his way out

I personally would have played Pantillimon before this news broke. Now though it's definitely got to be Hart for me. No point in appeasing a player who's leaving regardless.

I agree fully with this

Joe Hart will play in the final, no doubt about it whatsoever! Whether he was leaving or not Costel is pretty crap in all honesty and a cup final should be approached with our strongest team available.

Mancini confirmed Joe Hart is hoping to play, but when asked if he would select the England international, the City manager said: "I don't think so.

"We decided this at the start of the season. Pantilimon deserves to play.

"Joe won the FA Cup two years ago, he won the Premier League last year, he is the best keeper in England and I think he should be happy his second keeper can play in a big game.

"I know he wants to play but we decided at the start of the season it was important for Pantilimon to play in the two cups."

I agree with the comments above. He's never let City down when he's stepped in and an international needs first team football, especially at his age. Any thoughts on his replacement? Do we get a younger player in or someone with a bit of experience who doesn't mind playing second fiddle to JH?

I notice that the piece in the Sun on Panto leaving mentioned that Joe has struggled. I think he's made one or two errors this season but we've still got the best defensive record in the league (31 against). Oddly, the gooners (another team who's defense has been pilloried in the press) are only on 36 against which is the second best in the league.

What?? Pantilimon has "never let us down"?

As mentioned earlier, he's made cock ups in virtually every game he's played for us FFS.

Why pretend that this hasn't happened? Seriously, what's the point?

Why are people saying that Pantilimon 'hasn't put a foot wrong when called upon'? Utter, utter bullshit.

If it wasn't for Kompany getting back onto the line then his terrible early flap at a free kick would've resulted in us being 1-0 down in the semi final.

He knocked us out of the league cup with two horrendous cock ups against Villa.

He made an awful error resulting in a goal in the charity shield.

For someone who hasn't played many games he hasn't half got a back catalogue of howlers. Stop overhyping him FFS.

<awaits hysterical backlash>

I agree with this totally, I think Hart has made a few mistakes and been bum fucked by posters yet Pants is allowed to get away with it for some reason I dont understand

Also if you say you are leaving in the summer you forfeit your cup final especially when you are not even the teams No1 goalkeeper

Maybe that's because Panti flapped at 1 cross (Didn't cost us a goal) which is what Hart does with any cross that comes into his box and obviously Hart has pulled off 2 Taibis in 1 half season (both cost us a goal) Thats why he gets more stick as his mistakes were horrendous
