So why have the country not imprenented a more severe lockdown than attempt he moment I mean I get it that supermarkets remain open but does the country really need all these little tin pot foreign food shops open on every corner . Chemist and essential supermarkets and that’s it what should be open.

we’re not China unfortunately and can’t implement draconian measures - we’ve shut down as best we could I think and vast majority seem to be abiding.

It’s patently obvious they are talking about the difference between their CFR and those in the U.K., Italy, Spain et al.

This always has been the case. 15 years ago my mum had treatment withdrawn and was allowed to die when it became clear she couldn't be saved. And those medical professionals didn't have a ward full of others and a queue outside the door waiting to be let in all in the same boat. My guess would be those decisions have been made time and time again

I know what you mean, a close relative had the same happen to her several years ago when she was virtually brain dead.

However, my mother who died a few years ago had her life shortened by hospital policy about the elderly and non resuscitation after her stoke that got her there despite being mentally aware, just because of her age.

Do you think old and young people who suffer similar underlying problems but are both mentally alert will be treated the same?

I said the other week we’d be doing very well if we got away with anything under 20k deaths and you came charging in to shoot me down with a quote of Neil Ferguson saying the 5k figure and pointing out he was a lot more qualified than me to be making that assertion.

I am just pointing out that in that sense I will therefore be proved to be far more correct than he was.
