East and West Cheshire and part of High Peak moving into the restrictions - Boris just now.
It's been daft that Glossop (which I assume is where they mean) and the souroundings weren't part of it already to be honest, it might be "High Peak", but it's basically part of Greater Manchester, I've been saying this to my mum for weeks.

She could have seen her Grandaughter this weekend but took the sensible decision not to, especially as she had been at Alton Towers for a whole day, she's not seen her since Christmas, and all were upset not to see each other.

How many students are being admitted to hospital? How many going into ICU? How many are being put on to ventilators? And, how many are dying?

This would be very meaningful and useful data.
You are welcome to do a bit of research in this area Big Joe.

In case it helps, there was a Prof Stephen Griffin on Breakfast TV today (who is a Scientist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals) who said some students from Manchester Halls of Residence had ended up in Intensive Care.

Thanks TOTO.

I might endeavour, but I'm never one to reinvent the wheel.

The prime minister warned the "stark reality" of a second wave of coronavirus infections had seen the number of cases quadruple in the last three weeks, with more people now in hospital with the disease than had been before the UK entered its national lockdown in March.

Hardly any if any at all I would guess , not sure why it would be useful information, the useful information would be are they passing in into the public at large who are then ending up in hospital, if so where and how do we stop it.

I keep hearing the NHS is open as usual but I'm number 18 in the phone queue at my GP's - and we're in one of the lowest risk areas. Seems to have been the case every time I've needed to get in touch with them this year - anyone else having this sort of experience or is it just the wheels falling off at my surgery?

The big difference is that then we had no real testing regime able to home in and be sure where outbreaks were occurring. Now we do so we can target outbreaks one by one. And cases were escalating then much more rapidly than now. Localised lockdowns will be the way we do it now.

A national one will be very bad news if it happens as we will then be in real trouble across large areas of the UK if it has got that far.

It might. But let us hope the local lockdowns work.
So we now know that most cases happen in pubs, but not pubs owned by massive Brexit backers. Cool, good to know we have such a good handle on it and this definitely isn't at all politically influenced

Boris just seemed to suggest locals in Manchester should pressure local politicians to be in tier 3 so the government can offer more help to local businesses.
