COVID-19 — Coronavirus

I've only dipped in and out of this thread because otherwise I'd become obsessive with it and it wouldn't do my mental health any good. I do dip on the worldometer site for updates of numbers every other day or so. Im curious what people think as to why the UK death rate is running at over 10% vs other countries with similar / higher levels of infection? Does anyone have any info / links as to why our rate is running high in comparison?

Friend's family member has died last night, nothing to do with Coronavirus but the restrictions meant she died alone with no family and her family cannot see her at all, chances are they won't get a proper funeral either.

That news to me brought home how selfish some are of sunbathing, picnicking and having parties. So sad.

I extremely sad. I went to a funeral 2 weeks ago(unrelated to CV) but it was a very strange feeling when the over-riding emotion is to hug someone.

Very sad and very strange time

Just returned home from a walk with wife to a letter from the nhs dated 8 April to my wife saying she has been identified as vulnerable ( she has drugs to help Arthiritis) and that she should not leave the house for 12 weeks from the date of the letter.

they left that a bit late didn’t they !?

Very best of luck to both of you, especially your wife.

They say go to the doctors as usual but I think I'm still gonna give it a miss, I'd rather leave my dodgy knee for a month or two rather than chance twenty minutes in the waiting room.

Thanks m8

Hi folks as some hopeful may have noticed I have been absent from here for a while I was a little unwell I will leave it at that, my wife is still struggling. Can I reassure people who think they may have it and can still post on here I very much doubt it this is the last thing that will be on your mind. good luck everyone and please stay safe and follow the rules. I had a ct scan on my liver yesterday as it’s raised the enzymes on that quite significantly for some reason

I wish you and your wife a speedy and full recovery mate.

I read something somewhere about 2nd batch being sent out as they identified more vulnerable.
