It's not a fact. As I said it is "projected". At current rates we should overtake Spain, Italy and Germany in next week or so. We currently are only 11k behind the USA which has a population roughly 5 times ours

So double the deaths in the same amount of time. Had every state got it, if not what are the populations of the states that do? How many people per square metre in the US compared to UK? Sometimes it's easy to put a negative spin on things without actually conveying the full truth.

I found the worrying trend the number of people dying in care homes. :-(

Agree with attributing them, but I would imagine that a number of these deaths will appear in the daily figures on Wednesday/Thursday this week. The government will then probably announce an extension to the lockdown on Thursday. Don’t think it’s manipulating them, just how it falls after Easter, and many realise that it is still too soon to lift the restrictions.
No doubt it will be extended but the decision will already be made they won’t be using Wednesdays death figures as they will already have the hospital and critical care figures and be able to project the anticipated deaths at least a week ahead.
Could be right though they may use the higher Wednesday figure as a reason to show the public why we need to carry on with lockdown.

Sounds like you are surrounded by numpties. Some people either don’t understand what is required, don’t care or they do understand but think they won’t get it. Wait till another three weeks of what we have now is announced
I think its all of the above, its a complex of around 400 flats, I certainly don't think its full of "numpties", as I said the majority are conforming, and only going out when they have to. I do agree that some of it is educational, and some simply don't actually understand what is being asked, they think they do, but cut corners.

The biggest thing though is that different cultures do things in different ways, and its very hard to change the way different cultures work. There is a very large (and relatively poor) Asian community in the town, many live with several generations in the same household, and other family members close by, and I suspect there is both a language and educational issue here as well. My point being that its very difficult to completely lockdown a nation, especially a multi cultural one.

I can't help but fear for spain,it is a leap of faith unlocking the lockdown

The majority are still in lockdown far stricter than the UK. This allows industry to start up again. I guess there will be some spread but going to work in a factory probably safer than going to work in a hospital.

Everything else remains closed and we are still not allowed out apart from to go shopping for food.
