Aside from the care home discussion, that's the second day in a row that the number of deaths has been lower than announced the previous few days. I'm guessing we should urge caution though if we think we've hit the peak because going off the past couple of weeks, the figures tend to be lower at the start of the week and that has possibly extended into today because of the bank holiday.

There's still a week to go before you get near the peak. Weekend numbers have always been lower and since this is a Tues after a bank holiday Monday I'm guessing today's numbers are lower too. Also, these are just the numbers in England not the UK.

I think the 8th may end up over 900 and possibly the peak day. too early to be sure.

Read that as the '8th of may' might end up being the peak and felt woozy. Thought you were predicting three more weeks of deaths at this level then!!

Also, that image isn't showing. Just getting an error sign.

That would make sense as non covid hospital deaths fell. Good Spot!
Due to the hospital admiral criteria for non COVID-19 cases being increased you now have to have a good chance of survival to be admitted.
Whether the two will balance out is a moot point. I expect there to be a small percentage rise overall.
Later on in the year I expect some other deaths to spike as well due to reduced hospital treatments. How many depends on how long the lockdown is in place.

I think France now use all deaths, everyone else uses hospital deaths I think.
Belgium include all. As far as I can make out Scotland do too. They giving broken down figures later this week. Wasn’t 100% whether these are on top of , or the daily figure broken down. I think though since April 2nd the daily figure is a combined one and this will be broken down. We’ll see when we get the figures I suppose.

Do all countries generate their daily figures like we do and based on hispital deaths?
They did though I think Belgium are reporting registered deaths so are a few days behind. France added in other forms of reported death a week ago Spain added in care homes a week ago.
But deaths in the community are well behind across many parts of Europe.
The statistical retrospectascope will show the truth of it
